Ok so Halcyon Nights RSD2023 is basically sold out EVERYWHERE in the UK. No UK shop is stocking it online and they are all gone

 

I scoured the internet everywhere and the only ones selling it are international stores but they only have like 2 in stock and they're price gouging.

 

That's basically 1000 / 3000 copies (I saw both numbers and I don't know which one is accurate) sold in a week. Not bad for a 'fad' artist!

I went to the HMV signing at Manchester! She was really nice, I was one of the last ones at the back of the queue downstairs, and she was giving us air kisses when we got upstairs so I thought that was really nice of her. 
 

I did ask her about if there’s any plans for re-release and she was like “Hmm… maybe, yeah we could do” with a laugh  so I suppose there wouldn’t be 20+ tracklist this time around.

I just went through her discography and listened to all of her material. I feel this album was a HUUUGE upgrade from the horrible snoozefest Brightest Blue, but it's incredible how Lights still sounds classic as a project and its production is still incredible. Halcyon was good as well, and Delirium had a lot of bops but Brightest Blue was really her downfall. Glad she released Higher Than Heaven, even if it's her least personal record it seems like she wanted to just have fun with her music. Midnight Dreams is still playing on repeat everyday.

I feel like I would need more confirmation from Eloise(?) that she really wanted to make this record. The treatment of it so far is appalling and makes it feel like a throwaway/contractual obligation. It’s really sad because this is the only release of hers that resonated with me since Halcyon.

Thank you! I felt quite starstruck by Ellie in person and she was really stunning in real life, so I was surprised I still remembered to ask her about the re-release! To be fair I was also just trying to read into her reaction to see if there might be a possibility of it 

 

I would say there was probably around 300-400 people there. I was a bit late and was in the downstairs queue for about 10 minutes, and there were already a number of people finishing and coming back downstairs. When I went up it was quite a long queue of around 250 people.

 

PS: for the Manchester one we were allowed to take as many pictures as we wanted, and when it was your turn, people who worked at HMV would be taking pictures for you on your phone if you wanted, it was really fun!

They were shipped debut week and have been sitting in HMV for a couple weeks

Are there many people there? You’ll have to give your phone to HMV staff to take a pic for you, but I refused. Ain’t nobody touching my phone, then politely asked Ellie if I could take a selfie!

Yeah the queue is reasonably busy. I guesstimate about 100 people… but there might be more queuing downstairs.

Let’s hope she’s nice!
