Despite the fact that I kinda dislike Taylor for having a mediocre voice and a too-calculated artist, I have to admit that she is super smart and knows how to run things around her. Collabing with Lana at the current state of her career is the smartest move ever. I mean Lana is peaking with the new generation and streaming and is respected by the critics more than ever. Collabing with Lana, for example, during Wildest Dream / 1989 era (where there were a few songs that were clearly inspired by Lana) wouldnt benefit her as much. A collab wouldn't have worked a decade ago but it makes sense today because their previous styles have converged to this more stripped back singer-songwriter niche they dominate in popular music now.
