I think the audience wanted the movie to lean more on the scary rather than the campy. the marketing was genius but at the same time you got the usual horror crowd who will rip it to shred It's great for a horror movie . stop hating ..

She danced once and sang twice. I cackled at Titanium but that’s about it. I’m not saying it’s a terrible movie cuz it isn’t, but I won’t pretend this is a horror camp masterpiece. Again, barely any horror, off-screen deaths, and not camp enough = bland. Nor the premise nor the execution is new or particularly different to be exciting. I do think it has a great potential if they embrace its campy spirit, push for an R rating, and go nuts with the storyline. M3GAN as slasher villain is definitely cool. Still bland, still generic. Sorry. Also a B cinemascore for this kind of movie is really good. Edited January 7, 2023 by Zerocoke
fridayteenage Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 yeah, if you want an actually bad cinemascore despite good reviews, see a24: Midsommar C+ The Witch C- Hereditary D+ It Comes at Night D

Roman Holiday Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Working on my rate. All I can say is, the 2022 girls are lucky that Megán waited until 2023 to release. It would have been a slaughter.
terrorblade Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 it was safe but really entertaining. a solid franchise-starter I'd say I hope they go balls to the wall with M2GAN/M3GAN2

B is actually very good for horror. Recent Horror/Thriller darling all got lower score than this. Barbarian - C+ The Menu - B- Smile - B-

ccfan007 Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Lol it was... cute. I don't think I'd be back for a second installment though.
Patient Zero Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 This was good! I just wish there was more horror. But I will be definitely watching the sequel(s).
Roman Holiday Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 I appreciate that Megan had a personality and was becoming more sinister and sassy as she learned. That’s what made Chucky so fun. Child’s Play 2019 tried but that version of Chucky leaned too robotic. And Annabelle is literally lifeless.
Life Savers Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Hoping to see this queen tomorrow or Monday.
Broken Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 @genetic fail Time to update the title. Qu33n M3gs is now a Certified Fresh Legend.
Ms. Togekiss Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 People in my theatre were HOWLING everyone had a good time. I’m glad it’s getting good reviews and hopefully it smashes hard
killer_rose Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 M3GAN singlehandedly became main pop girl, main killer girl, main horror girl, main choreography girl with just one movie. The movie is great, a breath of fresh air. Pure entertainment with no hidden meanings. The whole theatre lost their **** during the Titanium scene.
Julia Fox Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Just watched it and it was so camp and bizarre and entertaining everyone in the theatre were laughing at some points and so into the movie during its entirety. It’s no horror but it’s not like the trailer wanted to prove it tbh it’s just a fun camp sci-fi with elements of horror and people that were expecting horror are just delusional based on everything we had known so far. Just a masterpiece and I totally love her Spoiler The scene at the end where she was about to kill Cady and she called her an ungrateful ***** had me cackling so much and at the same time made me feel so nervous at the same time

The sassy-ness in her tone.
