Originally Shawn mendes album single? He added it to his already 1 year old album after the success of the song.

and was promoted originally by him and he actually tried to put camila on the song for months and she didn't want to, till she's finally accepted months later? 

 

it has always looked way more a single a shawn mendes single cuz of that. he had to convince camila for monthssss, it's not a Romance track. 

if he took this long to put on his album so it was a "shawn mendes droplet" that ended up being a Romance track, still not a proper Romance single. 

we know it wasn't apart of the album rollout that started very clarly with the video teaser + Shameless & Liar.

It fits more with the theme of 'Romance era' than shawn mendes album..Both wrote the song.. it wasn't Shawn's single only..I guess if it was solo and it was only Shawn's song then the original lyrics were really different cause I don't think that Shawn can sing 'I love it when you call me senorita'  !!

It was released leading up to the Romance era and was included on the tracklist that Camila revealed before the album was even released.

 

ATRL of course making an enormous deal out of Senorita being included on the album as if we didnt have much worse cases when a song was added in the middle of an era or post era only to boost the overall album units

 

Some of the worst cases have been Nicki adding Fefe onto Queen and Dua adding.....pretty much all of the singles she was featured on to her albums

And for some people who are mad that senorita was included in two albums,Bang Bang exists! We had songs that were included in two albums before.. it's not the first time

For Nicki, sure, it was a desperate move.

 

As for Dua though, her debut and Future Nostalgia have 5.5 billion and 5.9 billion streams respectively without the features, they're still smashes regardless because she has scored hits as a lead artist.

 

The issue here is not Senorita being added to Romance, it's the fact that the era needed the song in order to be saved, it's quite disconcerting to see that the album doesn't even have 2 billion streams without it and it was released three years ago.

 

That being said, I will never understand why none of the solo singles took off (except Shameless because it sucks and deserved to flop ), it's her best album and Senorita is one of the weakest songs on it.  Liar was the better Latin bop.

Sure, they're not bad per se, but when you consider the amount of promo the era had, you would expect more. She had the same exposure and promo schedule as an MPG in 2019-2020, if not more. She performed everywhere during that era (SNL, AMAs, Grammys, iHeartRadio, Apple Music show, BBC Radio 1, the Ellen Show...).

 

Also, considering the fact that the album has 1.3 million daily streams and that Senorita probably makes up for half of these numbers, it will get "there" in about a year so, not so "soon".
