Absolutely grotesque, but that's sadly the reality of queer people in Palestine territories & other Arab nations. And even when they manage to escape to a safe haven like Israel, they're never fully safe.

Hearbreaking, may his memory be a blessing :cries:

For all the talking about “pink washing,” Israel genuinely is a much safer place to be if you’re queer, hence why this man escaped there. Really sad that this happened.

I have no words. This is absolutely revolting.

The Islamic world is backwards and antiquated. There needs to be a much harder pushback on religious extremists in the Islamic world.

What does standing in solidarity with Palestine have to do with this story ? and Israel has outed gay men on many occasions.

Ahmed's murder is appalling, much like Israel's assassination of Shireen Abu Akleh and all the innocent children, women and men they have killed.

Do y'all really care about this or are y'all ultimately comfortable using a tragic death as a means to coyly go "see? ;)" whilst making uncomfortably right-wing implications towards Israel-Palestine, or?

Regardless. This is awful. May he rest in peace, along with all the other journalists, UN ambassadors, and civilians murdered in cold blood.

Of course they don't care, but whatever helps them promote their propaganda. The IOF has literally used gay Palestinians' sexuality on several occasions to blackmail them into working as spies and informants. LGBTQ+ Palestinians are still being being occupied, displaced, or killed. But hey, Israel is "gay heaven" or whatever they like to call it.

There's actually a blooming queer community in Palestine that works hard to fight for their rights and against the Israeli occupation. But zionists love to use them as cudgels to constantly justify their racism and imperialism.

RIP Ahmed. Such a tragic death. :(

You’re literally spreading “propaganda” trying to distract from the situation at hand. What’s actually sad is that you can’t call out an environment so toxic that this man willingly RAN AWAY to the evil Zionist state, and was then kidnapped back to the West Bank and killed… “Blooming queer community” in Palestine or not, this man was still tragically murdered and you can’t blame the state of Israel for that.

People literally ran in here with their "see i told ya xd" posts about Palestine being bad and Israel being the safe heaven. Including you. :deadbanana4:

No one is denying that Ahmed's death was absolutely tragic and sad. Many queer people around the world are unfortunately still living like this. What we're NOT gonna do is use his death and queer rights as a scapegoat for war crimes and as part of Isarel's international propaganda to obscure its human rights violations. That is literally the epitome of pinkwashing.

I never said Palestine was bad, just that Israel is better for gay people. Which it is, considering this man was a gay refugee :skull:

So what ARE we gonna do? Cheer on Palestine to become a powerful nation where gays will continue to be systemically slaughtered by the hand of Islam? For Israel to shut its doors to LGBT Palestenians who are rushing to seek asylum there? What's it gonna be?

That one loud user who never stops talking about Russian propaganda painting Ukrainians as nazis only to then do the *exact same thing* and prove themselves morally incoherent by doing to Palestine what Russia does to Ukraine by suggesting countries with moral failings somehow don't deserve to have their own autonomy and right to exist as a nation. :skull:

No one says Palestine is some most moral society. They say such doesn't justify Israel colonizing it.

Their years of defense of Israel on here genuinely makes whatever they say ideologically illogical.

The bonds of Western chauvinism are a hell of a drug. :deadbanana4:
