Another show that was way way way head off its time was Ryan Murphy’s Popular. It debuted early 2000s and dealt with homophobia, trans issues, eating disorders and it had the same satire edge as scream queens. It also gave us the iconic Mary Cherry played by AHS Leslie Grossman. Got cancelled after 2 season by WB.

I loved this show. I used to watch a rerun of it as a kid somewhere.

**** ain’t been the same since WB became CW tbh.

Ariana Grande’s death scene remains one of the rare times when I experienced jaw pain from laughing out loud too much.

Literally the only reason so many people watched the premier was because of Ariana. She was in all the marketing and commercials before the airing. Then she was killed off in the first episode! They used her for promo.

She's the Drew Barrymore in Scream. The most known person put in every promo just to be quickly killed. Intentional and very clever.

in terms of CAMPINESS, maybe. but this is nowhere near "good tier tv drama" at all with all things considered:rip:

Never watched this program. Is it worth a view?

Watch episode 1 and 2 and pretend it's a movie instead of a tv series.

I’ve unsuccessfully tried to watch the first season ever since it premiered in 2015 but I can never get past the first few episodes. I never really felt like it was this HILARIOUS, groundbreaking show that everyone else was talking about

the way Scream Queens is popular among the Tiktok crowd

S1 wasthe greatest thing to ever come to television :jonny2:

I mean, look at the material:

I watch this for the kiis as well.

Unfortunately, it’s only funny because it’s a parody. Without that, the scene would not be hilarious.

Ryan needs to bring it back to Netflix. Honestly, truly.

She spilled @The Witch

Ryan needs to use the money of 'Dahmer' to make a third season.

Can’t here to say this. Popular is the perfect precursor to this show and Glee.

I need to watch it asap

It was trash, like most of Ryan Muprhy's work. I guess it's good for those who haven't been able to get over Mean Girls. :rip:

Y’all do a little too much on season two. It wasn’t nearly as memorable but it had some hilarious moments like the spoof on those ASPCA commercials
