Scandalous Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 I just started rewatching this and the pilot is truly one of the best tv episodes EVER like every single line is genius and we really couldn’t have asked for a more iconic cast. this show is as quotable for the gays as Mean Girls. I still feel like the show being on Fox was its downfall, it’s too niche of a show for network tv. it would’ve popped off on netflix or they could’ve put it on FX like Ryan’s other shows

Robert Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 The first season was pure excellence. It kinda dipped in S2 but still a shame it got cancelled.
Cloudy Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 I can't believe Netflix hasn't picked this up. It's like right up their alley. It was such a campy funny mess
Ger Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 S1 was incredible, S2 was okayish, still enjoy it, but S1 was just another level. So iconic, the kind of humor I love.
Bloodflowers. Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 once they took out Ariana Grande, the show tanked

I'm gonna regret finishing season 1 and getting to s2 based on some of ya'll's reactions. Don't listen to them. It was good, just not as good as s01
Lost In Paradise Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 my bestie and I still quote this regularly

favorite crime Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 if it had premiered on Netflix this year it would have broken the internet. it was just ahead of it's time. it's the perfect show for the current TikTok age

Poxy Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Well I’m glad it didn’t, I always found it to be cringe
Dystopian Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 a majority of the first season is incredible, but that rushed messy ending ruined it for me. season 2 was some of the worst television i've ever seen. so iconic and quotable tho, i'd love for it to come back if done right.
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 On 10/4/2022 at 5:15 PM, Beyonnaise said: There was potential there for a really good show. The horror/comedy genre is great and tapping it for a show like this was smart. It suffered the way all Ryan Murphy shows do though because the good elements were weighed down by all the messy, stupid parts. I find his shows entirely unwatchable tbh. Glee, majority of AHS, Scream Queens, Nurse Ratchet, Hollywood, etc all suffer from Ryan Murphy-isms. AHS S1 & S2 were good though
KOMH Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 It did. Season 1 was comedy gold. Chanel remains Emma's best character
chiliam Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 The show was way to ahead of its time. If it was launch on Netflix this year with a big campaign like back then. It would smash streaming record. The humor is unique. And honorary mention to the messy ATRL thread, if i recall correctly season 1 is the most replied thread for a script TV season in ATRL history. Each week is mess after mess.

Into The Void Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 Niexy Nash made the show for me she was hIlarious

superchaz Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 Another show that was way way way head off its time was Ryan Murphy’s Popular. It debuted early 2000s and dealt with homophobia, trans issues, eating disorders and it had the same satire edge as scream queens. It also gave us the iconic Mary Cherry played by AHS Leslie Grossman. Got cancelled after 2 season by WB. https://youtu.be/JuUoNwWwmd4
Vixen Eyes Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 i wish more people watched it, i loved it although i could have done without nick jonas playing gay when they could have gotten any irl gay person for the role
