okgo Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Curtis played Dean Cathy Munsch in the Fox horror-comedy show co-created by Ryan Murphy, about a sorority targeted by a serial killer. With a cast which also included Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Keke Palmer, and Billie Lourd, the series looked like such a surefire smash that EW granted it cover status when the show premiered (see below). Alas, Fox would cancel Scream Queens after just two seasons. "It was so inventive, so dark, so well-written, so well-directed, the actors were fantastic, all those girls were great," Curtis says. "What I really remember about Scream Queens was, when it was starting to get seen, and you guys were like, it's really amazing. I'd never been part of something that had that much lift-off. It actually felt like it was going to break television, the way it was teed up. It didn't. It did fine. But the lift of it before it hit was something I've never experienced before or since. I mean, every single news magazine had picked it as its No. 1 show of the year and it was so interesting to be a part of that." https://ew.com/movies/jamie-lee-curtis-role-call-halloween-ends-interview/
youreyesgocold Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 (edited) Anything starring Keke Palmer will of course be a hit I got too busy with University half way through season one airing and fell off. Maybe it’s finally time to go back and finish it. Also that deaf Taylor Swift stan who got beheaded early on was PEAK comedy. Edited October 4, 2022 by youreyesgocold
GraceRandolph Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Not to be a Billy Eichner, but the straights made it flop.

cypriotpcdfan Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 A fantastic show all and all. And watching the seasons back a few more times, even S2 is honestly really great. The chemistry of the cast and the whole campiness of everything was what truly elevates the show. It really deserves to be brought back. 0:45 - 0:47 I mean that scene alone...
gatito Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 like any other ryan murphy series a bunch of monkeys with typewriters took over writing by episode 4-5
James_Dean Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 S1 wasthe greatest thing to ever come to television I mean, look at the material:
Beyonnaise Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 There was potential there for a really good show. The horror/comedy genre is great and tapping it for a show like this was smart. It suffered the way all Ryan Murphy shows do though because the good elements were weighed down by all the messy, stupid parts.
Heartbreak Prince Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Season 1 is truly one of the best pieces of TV ever. I MAY SLAY LIZ DAW

MadonnasBoyfriend Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 (edited) You can thank Emma Roberts for that. No one tuned in for Dean Munch. But.. We love Dean munch ? she's right tho. The show felt huge and the cancelation was shocking ? Edited October 4, 2022 by MadonnasBoyfriend

Hurem Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 S1 was next level amazing. Gotta rewatch it soon.
Crank_It_Up Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 (edited) One of my favorite TV shows of all time. The way it should’ve had multiple seasons, I’ll never forgive the public for letting it flop. The way I feel like it would’ve SMASHED for filth if it came out today though. A show ahead of its time. Edited October 4, 2022 by Crank_It_Up
KeirGrey Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 it had everything but a good plot, lets be honest.

It definitely would, the way soundbites from the show go viral on Tiktok every once in a while shows that there is a bigger audience for it today. They should get it rebooted.

It was the outrageousness and the ridiculousness of everything that made the show, imo. It just needs a good setting and a catchy overall storyline.

MonsterJohn Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Yeah it was ahead of its time for certain people (straiggots)
yonsé Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 S1 was actually the last time i remember network TV having a "big show". the cast really was stacked. ryan and his poor writing of course tanked the show, but emma and keke (and neicy!) were so good.

Niecy was literally half of this show. Any time she appeared on screen, it was comedy gold. She has so many memorable quotes
