Tbh why even go see this movie when you can literally just play Mario Kart yourself and BE Mario/Peach etc. :rip:

The excuses already. My Neighbor Totoro is a kids movie with barely any plot and it's an all-timer so what's Mario's excuse :bird:

Totoro, sweetie, I'm SO sorry, I'm so sorry that a ugly ass ***** like this would even say that, oh my god!

Ah yes. Trusty old critics. They ALWAYS know what they’re talking about.

Either way, celebrating or being upset at somebody else’s opinion of art is certainly interesting.

Crisp ruins everything.

While it's nowhere near as thrilling as turtle tipping your way to 128 lives, The Super Mario Bros. Movie is a colorful -- albeit thinly plotted -- animated adventure that has about as many Nintendos as Nintendont's. Read critic reviews

At this point, I will decide for myself if I like a movie or not.

You’re just deciding that? :gaycat6:

The movie is already predicted to do $125 million in the US and Canada and $225 worldwide for opening weekend. It’s fine. A lot of the reviewers have probably never played any of the recent Mario games (or any) and were expecting (or exaggerating) a movie with so many twists and turns and the deepest story.

Look, critics are so damn bald-headed. I trust no one.

That pretty unfortunate, I was hoping this one would follow Detective Pikachu and Sonic's pretty good reviews.

Guess I'll wait until it drops on streaming :gaycat2:

I think it still might do really well at the box office despite the scores/reviews. I've been asked so many times if I'm going to see it. Not this week alone, but months in advance. Time will tell, but I'm debating going for Jack Black.

The amount of enraged fanboys on twitter :toofunny2:

People thinking having references to a believed IP automatically makes a movie good :toofunny2:

This doesn’t have to be good to do well though

can we stop casting Chris though

MC: 53 (Pikachu).

MC: 47 (Sonic 1 and 2).

Are the "pretty good reviews" in the room with us?

Anyway, I'm still excited for this. Not expecting a masterpiece or a great story (the moment I saw this was only 92 minutes long, I knew it could go anywhere), just visuals and having a good time.

Metacritics for movies are irrelevant. Show the RT score with a much larger pool of varied critics.

MC is irrelevant for movie reviews. Both movies are at upper 60's on RT, which is pretty good

Nobody gives a sh*t about MC when it comes to movies or TV shows.
