This movie was enjoyable enough. However, I don't see myself showing up for another movie.

If only they could just let it be a cute fun movie and move on, but its a smash, so we're gonna get 5 more of these things :skull:

I think a Donkey Kong solo could be huge since he was one of the more popular characters aside from Mario and Luigi.

Yeah Donkey Kong spin off should have the potential to be action packed and very funny. Also a very easy second movie would begoing to Daisy's queendom, Luigi falling in love and introducing Peach and her as an iconic duo. You can have a Luigi spin offs based on his adventures on the Haunted House. You can have another sequel with Rosalina and even another one introducing Yoshi.

boom there it isss. and i have a feeling the estimates are gonna go higher :coffee:

def wanna go back and watch it to catch all the little easter eggs. the first viewing felt like such a quick 90 minutes, which isnt bad, i was still smiling like a dumba$$ the entire time. the visuals exceeded my expectations.

when the sequel is yoshi’s island and the third is mario galaxy OHHHHHH the next hit animated movie franchise is here

Can't wait to see this, everyone loves the Mario universe so of course it's smashing. I'd see it even if it were utter garbage.

Saw this in 4DX and genuinely had the funnest experience I've ever had in a movie theater. Graphics were top notch and the movie went by so quickly,  best way to spend an hour & a half.

Jack Black ATE as Bowser and Anya's Peach was a slay. Even though Luigi wasn't in the movie much, the relationship between he & Mario was so cute to see on screen.

Perched to see what the sequel will look like :duca: Loved seeing the Kong & Mario Kart worlds,  I loved playing those games as a kid too. Seth Rogen was so much fun as Donkey Kong too.

The audience I saw it with clapped before and after the movie :rip:

Yeah I wish I could success stan this too but it really was for toddlers :rip:

In fact it felt like an unhinged toddler wrote the entire movie and it was just an endless barrage of ridiculous and over the top action and deus ex machinas :deadbanana:

But to be fair, my knowledge of Mario is limited to Mario Kart and Smash Bros cause those were the only ones I played as a kid with my brother and friends

So I may have missed some references and only saw them as convenient deus ex machinas

But the nostalgia baiting worked I guess cause those childhood memories did come back :dies: The rainbow bridge gave me PTSD of me always falling off the Rainbow Road map in Mario Kart as a kid :dies:

I loved Peach and every time she used a flower, I loved Mario and Luigi's brotherly relationship, Toad was okay, the visuals were good and the score was nostalgic (love the Super Star theme :jonny6:)

The rest of the movie were kinda boring despite the over the top ridiculousness (then again, I'm not 5)

Y’all (and the critics) are doing too much. I just watched it. It was a BLAST. Yeah, story is pretty straightforward but what else do you expect? It instantly takes you down an immersive nostalgic trip with our favorite characters and all the gameplay references. The world building is certainly impressive and the animation/graphics is chef kiss. The score is another highlight. I had so much fun and surely couldn’t have asked for much more from a Super Mario Bros movie.

Adults just hate fun nowadays. If you want deep meaningful, “adult-friendly” animation feature to watch then just watch Pixar stuff ala Inside Out or Soul

So glad to see this smashing and the sequels will be greenlit and we’ll witness more of Mother Peach’s slayage :wanda:

This was a cute, fun family movie, idk what the critics were expecting!

Universal Studios was smart for making Nintendo land in Cali and opening another Nintendo themed area in Florida park. 🙃 Can't wait to see this

Just got out of the theater about 2 hours ago. LOVED IT!!! Saw this in IMAX.

It's one of those movies you go in with zero expectations and come out loving it. The animation was amazing  --- total eye-candy. These games aren't known for their plot, so I don't know what those dumb critics expected.

Our theater was jam-packed. Lumalee and Bowser stole the show. So excited for a sequel!!! :jonny6:

Nintendo and Illumination could have a very, very successful cinematic universe on their hands if they play their cards right!!!

Saw this tonight and had a blast and so did all my friends who saw it with me.

Graphics are top-notch, its eye candy from start to finish. Characters are full of charisma. I did miss a lot of important ones... Yoshi (not counting those 2 secs) Wario and Waluigi...

The story is barebones but it serves a Mario story like youd expect

People who like this movie are so insecure.

"Despite what critics are sa-"

"I loved it. Critics took a L"

"Critics are just tast-"

Etc etc.

So funny.
