Obviously we're not getting such songs back. But imagine a local song that is popular and not turbofolk.

Milana Vlaović carried the Croatian music industry as much as she could. :chick3:

I was wondering why you explicitly said top 20 and not 25 and then remembered that Alexandra Priyowich is a Croat. :clap3:

The day Spotify puts out a chart for Croatia I hope it will start shifting things or at least showcase further to the labels how bad it is :rip:

The current airplay #1 has 100k views. This is how many views Sanja gets in a day (from Croatia only). :rip:

Is there a similar case in other countries where people REFUSE to listen to local music?

The thing with trap is that it's exclusively a streaming genre in Europe. It doesn't get played on the radio. Audio streaming still isn't big in Croatia, so the trap wave was avoided by national labels. So they're going to be a massive discrepancy between what people actively consume and what the radio plays.

We are talking about trap influenced folk songs. "Pure American" trap is more like alternative thing. Kinda niche.

This one kinda got popular. Zero folk influence YET didn't get airplay despite having over 2million plays on yt.

@greeneyedsoul how did Sveto Pismo do on the airplay charts?

Sveto pismo #5

Moje proljeće #3

Sveto pismo had some longevity, Moje proljeće came and went. Radios totally ignored her collab with Saša Matić but are playing her song with new radio darling Matija Cvek.

Lockroom seems to be the go to producer. From trap to pop everyone wants his productions.

This is literally the only song this year that has been both a radio and streaming hit.

This was payola'd and inorganic btw!

It's payola'd like any other radio #1 here but this one is the only one with +5M views.

This one has 53k views.

100k after two weeks.

183k after 3 months.

74k after 3 months.

I guess Macedonian producer gets a pass and Emina Jahovic as well since she was attending cmc festival(s?)

Seems like it. I know that Emina had some songs that charted before, not hing, but they charted.

But when you think about it, when singing, there's little to no difference between Croatian and Bosnian. And a lot of Bosnian artists are signed to Croatia Records because of Jugoton.

Almost the same with Montenegrin, Sergej Ćetković gets tons of airplay here.

Exactly but then again we have Severina's collab with Buba and Jala and still not getting airplay despite them being from Bosnia.

Sergej always gets support from CMC tv but never heard him on the radio.

Wow at Sanja slaying like that (even though the song is tragic).

Croats are more obsessed with Serbian turbofolk than Serbs themselves.?
