It looks like a little too American Horror Story for me. The original is such a classic. I hope they don't mess it up. :katie:

The original film is an unofficial adaption of the Dracula story. Bram Stoker's estate went after the production and it was ruled that all copies had to be destroyed. Thankfully, the film survived. Despite it being unofficial, many consider Nosferatu to be the definitional reading of the story.

get into this germaniac classiqué (incl. english subtitles)

I was underwhelmed by the 'reveal' tbh

hearing nothing but praise for this film so cannot wait to see it!

I really enjoyed it. Lily was amazing! Her performance blew me away. I'm guessing it's the genre that's keeping her from the recognition she deserves. Shame.

Excellent cinematography, great acting, and well paced. The only thing I hated was how he looked.

gorgeous film and that's all i can say positive about it. was a big letdown for me; beyond boring, sexlessly horny, didn't love some

of the effects and thought they could have shot it a lil less traditionally / in a more artful way, didn't like one obvious aesthetic choice of bill skarsgards vampire, pacing felt weird to me at times … faaaabulous costumes and sets but ya that can only take you so far. it was laborious, unsatisfying, not as scary as it could have/should have been. 5/10 and that's pretty generous

Miss Eggers doesn't do reveals tbh. Just like we straight up saw the witch cooking the baby in The VVitch in like the first 15 minutes.

I also thought this, some of the shots at night were giving Van Helsing (2004)

well then why keep him hidden in the shadows for all the promo? i don't care if it's straight up in your face from the first minute it's still a reveal and i can't wait!

even tho some a-hole posted a picture on his insta stories that i saw for like second before i realised what it was...

Spoiler

it kinda gave resident evil zombie lol but it was just a shot from an iphone in the dark

i really can't stand people like why do that? is it that hard to not chase clout and be a d**k for second? let people enjoy things. especially when we don't even have the option to go see it for a week.

Cinematography was beautiful and Lily truly went for it in the dramatic & possession scenes. Even though I enjoyed the movie, it was surprisingly safe for an Eggers movie.  Worthy of Cinematography,  Costume Design,  Production Design, and Makeup & Hair Styling Oscar nominations even though it won't get any for acting (Dafoe would be worthy for supporting actor but it's not happening).

I saw this on Thursday at an early showing and was excited. I loved how it was shot, the outfits, etc. it was shot beautifually. I loved that.

However I was very disappointed. I ended up falling asleep because I found it to be really slow and boring :rip: I definitely expected better.

Ms Depp did what she had to do with this one wow :clap3:

Just saw this tonight and it was pretty good I can't lie. I didn't know I was watching Lily rose deep, not a fan of her dad as of late but she kinda ate with this one. I thought the lead actress was doing a really good job the whole movie. Visually it's a masterpiece and I see why it's getting acclaim

Saw this last night. Visually gorgeous and amazing cast performances.

Maybe I had too high of expectations, but I felt like there was something missing... I wasn't as gagged like I thought I would be.

Spoiler

Orlok did not feel sinister enough to me.
