It’s not that important to pay attention to the little details of a fan favorite era. Maybe she wanted to help with the environment and not release and ship unnecessary heavy plastic physicals of music globally when you can simply stream much more eco friendly digitally. Especially after her no doubt seeing that all of the limited small batch of 4120 copies of Lights 10 vinyl still haven’t sold out after 24+ months. Obviously not much demand for her physical music anymore. Even the Brightest Blue vinyl has had its price slashed recently. Much more eco friendly with a tiny run of $34 cotton shirts or $57 signed cardboard prints. Let’s now look to the future and focus on her new banger of a single, just like she wants. Why, in the age of modern music consumption with playlists that are hours long, is it wild to wish a singer to release all the music that already publicly exists from an era and compile it all thoughtfully? It’s mostly already right there in her label’s possession. Heck, I already have a lot of it saved myself. But it’d be nice if everyone legally had access to it, too. Metallica have been releasing massive 125+ track versions of their albums over the recent years. Why not do the same and allow us to skip or re-order the content to our liking? They don’t earn money when it’s not on streaming, so why not change that? Especially if no physical restrictions or releases are happening, why not embrace digital where there are no obvious limitations on space, size and length?
