There is racism and colorism everywhere but to say Puerto Ricans are more white is stupid as hell. They are just as mixed up as Dominicans. Puerto Ricans have had their own racial struggles in America too and many are black mixed. Have you even been to Puerto Rico? There are many black looking ones. Just as Cubans have their damn nerves acting so white washed when Cuba has soooo many Afro Cubans.

It's common knowledge in Puerto Rico that Dominicans immigrants tend to be darker skinned than a lot of Puerto Ricans. Hence the quote from an actual person who lives in the island and gets to experience that every day.   Another thing about Puerto Rican culture is giving nicknames based on skin color. Jlo would not be called "negra" or even "negrita", yknow, the nicknames people give out in the island to PoC. She'd be called "hincha." The Puerto Ricans that I talk to, who live on the island, would be laughing at the notion of Jlo considered a PoC, especially compared to local celebrities over there like Romeo Santos or Amara La Negra  They all know she gets tanned to play on the notion that Latino = exotic. Hopefully that answers your question regarding whether I've been to Puerto Rico. But I'm done talking about this anyway cuz it's getting OT.
