Let's wait and see. Though if the same Manga writers are involved in writing a new season, then I'm on board

that's for sure, i'd not want some randoms to ruin it.

i didn't know the manga writers had been involved with the series, that's cool

Somehow I started watching the first 2 episodes and I think I will continue with the rest over the next few weeks.

1. Very happy to see the hot Machida Keita again, even if it's only for a few seconds. His character Karube shouldn't have been killed off.

2. Usagi worrying about the risks involving when there are 30 mins left in the game when they are thousands of points behind. If you don't do anything, you will definitely die 30 mins later.

3. The King of Clubs going the natural route and embracing nudism... I was not expecting that.

What't the tea in season 2 episode 5 with that actor that looked EXACTLY like Arisu / Kento Yamazaki:rip:

I can't believe such a casting choice was made and the creators of the show did not use it to pull some stunts with it to make the ending more mindfvck.:jonny:

hmmm s2 was a bit all over the place for me. a lot of the dialogue felt repetitive and the final ep was kind of cliche, although the joker bit was actually interesting lol.
loved a lot of the characters tho. :whistle2:

I have finally finished Episode 4 after 3 weeks.

1. The game where they have to guess the suit was simple but a good concept nonetheless. The ending of that game was a little underwhelming.

2. It is amusing to see Ms Usagi catching rabbits forfood again (I think she did so in Season 1) since Usagi literally means "rabbit".

3. Interesting that Season 1, there was no killing of players outside of games. But in Season 2, King of Spades had free rein to kill anyone he wanted. And why was he the only person with weapons?

I thought the game of King of Spades was to survive him and then he had to die in order to be able to finish his game:gaycat6:

I am kind of annoyed we did not get the King of Hearts to be a properly fleshed out character with an interesting game.:deadbanana:

The Queen of Hearts would be the "final boss" anyway, not the King of Hearts, just like in Alice in Wonderland (where the King of Hearts is just a useless, figurehead and powerless in comparison).

I am now in the middle of Ep6 after sacrificing a bit of sleep yesterday, woops.

Regarding the games, I absolutely love the Queen of Spades Checkmate game. I wonder if they used an actual facility to film or if 99% of it was CGI. (I know that in Japan, some industrial facilities can be quite beautiful and they become tourist attractions).

Balance Game (King of Diamonds) is terrific so far. Boiling Death is straightforward but it should have a rating of 9.

Kuina's game with the Jack of Spades looks intersting but the rules were not explained.

Story-wise, there were too many cop-outs with the gamemasters seemingly too philosophical about losing and dying. The boy also survived thanks to the generosity of many other adult players and he seemed to do nothing. He is the only lucky child though, it seems, as all other characters are adults.

My overall fave characters are Chishiya and Usagi. Arisu is rather milquetoast.

I want to see more of Ann Rizuna but nope, she seems to be forgotten. (And somehow, seems to have a very high number of days before her visa expires. Like, how did she go trekking and still survive without playing a game in many days?)

It has been 2 decades (!) since I read Alice In Wonderland / Through The Looking Glass so I am missing a lot of references. Thanks for enlightening.

1. Arisu and Usagi chasing the rabbit in Episode 4. They go down the rabbit hole and into the clutches of the King of Spades.

2. I wonder if Tweedledum or Tweedledee will make an appearance.

For the other games, everyone had to sign up to be part of it, but for the King of Spades, he gets to do whatever he wants, regardless of  the "consent" of the player.

Episode 6:

The ending for the numbers game was...lame.

It also bothers me that certain words that should be in katakana (like "congratulations") are written in hiragana.

Episode 7:

WTH, the dragon Z ball throwing game looks so good but we only got less than 1 minute of it. :gaycat6: Why can't all the games get at least 10 mins of airtime? Give me more of Ann Rizuna!

Instead of featuring the games more, they decide to show more of this Niragi shooting spree mess. (NB: Amazingly, the actor playing Niragi, Sakurada Dori, is named after an actual street with the same name. )

Can't believe the number of people who are trying to physically attack the King of Spades at close range. Those people, who were not bearing arms mind you, really thought they could take him down with their fists and dumbness. :gaycat7:
