Radio to become more important on the Hot 100 – Who'll benefit / suffer the most?

Starting by this year's end, Billboard will use Mediabase data for its charts, including its flagship chart the Hot 100.

As per HDD, this will increase radio's impact on the charts:

Quote

Because Mediabase’s audience is bigger than that of BDS, radio thus earns a slightly larger piece of the Hot 100 pie — which means radio becomes more important.

Which pop girls (and other artists too) do you think will benefit the most from this upcoming change?

Who will have the most to lose?

I honestly think it's draconian that they're still counting radio. It's pretty obvious how manipulated that metric is and how labels are paying Billboard to keep the charts this way. Some charts have dropped radio as a factor completely (such as the UK), and I think this should be the same for all charts.

This is ridiculous considering radio can be easily manipulated and radio is racist, they won’t play non-english songs on heavy rotation!

As if streaming can't be easily manipulated and fraudulent with playlisting and a huge corporation behind an artist :deadbanana4:

Uhmm you can choose what to stream even with playlist, but you can’t choose what you listen on the radio unless you change station and people usually don’t, they stick to their favourite station

Users can easily skip to the next song in a playlist with one tap or double click on earphone/airpods. Drivers are less likely to change station cuz a song comes up unless they really hated it!

Should be the OPPOSITE thing happening.

But no shade, probably Taylor Swift. She debuts extremely high off streams + sales, but her radio success has been pretty ass after 1989. Her longevity will suffer because of this, but she has such a massive fanbase it probably won't hurt too much. But #1 debuts may be a bit more difficult
