Almodusa Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 (edited) The series follows the lives of four Indigenous teenagers in rural Oklahoma, as they spend their days committing crime and fighting it. After the death of their friend Daniel one year prior to the events of the series, the gang wrestles with a desire to move to California, the way Daniel dreamed of. But first they need to tie up loose ends in their lives & community and make preparations to leave. It is a notable first in that it features all Indigenous writers and directors, along with an almost entirely Indigenous North American cast and production team. The comedy-drama has received widespread critical acclaim and numerous accolades, including a Peabody Award, two Independent Spirit Awards, a Television Academy Honor, and nominations for the Critics' Choice Television Awards and Golden Globes. Its second season received the show's first Primetime Emmy nomination. It is created by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi. The series ended with season 3. Main cast: Devery Jacobs D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai Lane Factor Paulina Alexis Season 1, consisting of 8 episodes, premiered on August 9, 2021. Season 2, consisting of 10 episodes, premiered on August 3, 2022. Season 3, consisting of 10 episodes, premiered on August 2, 2023. Edited July 17 by Almodusa

Wicked Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 It's really unfortunate this show is not that popular, it should've been a storming moment. I think the entire main cast is pretty great, and while it has the hallmarks of the 2010s Dramadey feel it's still very unique. I'll binge S3 when it's done. Hopefully the cast go on to have fruitful careers and there will be more Native media that gets to have a long stretch.
