Cruel Summer Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 One of the best albums of all time and still sounds fresh today I wish there was more music out there that made me feel the way this album does. Start to finish, it’s a complete experience.

GentleEarthquake Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 i'm yet to truly dive into this album, it hasn't clicked entirely with me, but i think it's great
ithinkheknowsoutsold Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 It's crazy to me how many brilliant and iconic LPs by female artists came out in 1997-98: this, Ray of Light, Butterfly, Impossible Princess, The Velvet Rope, Come on Over, Spice, Is This Desire? etc.
FightForTanas Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 The fact that ive been listening to this album all week. I didnt even know. Pluto is still one of my favorite Bjork songs.

Soda Pop Queen Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 (edited) When I was first getting into Ms. Guðmundsdóttir's discography a decade ago, this album was what sealed my fandom. I was in awe of the complexity of the string arrangements paired with these dense trip hop beats and the rawness of her vocal performances. The circumstances of the writing/recording of this album made for a bleak but beautiful sounding landscape. My only complaint is probably the common one, All Is Full of Love video version should've been somewhere on the album. Howie B version could've been treated as a reprise of some sorts. Still a perfect 10 though. Edited September 20, 2022 by Soda Pop Queen

The girls, most of which were women with some life experience and creative freedom by that point, were eating and spilling their guts at the same time lol. I imagine there was a lot of existential dread because of the impending Y2K that was underscoring the tone of many of these albums too. It was the end of an entire century so best put your best foot forward if it was to be the end of all things. Edited September 20, 2022 by Soda Pop Queen
John Slayne Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Jóga is one of the best songs of all time happy birthday Homophobic

AndresVanDeKamp Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 My favourite album tied with Kate Bush's Hounds of Love. That hasn't changed in 12+ years. Still sounds so incredibly fresh and innovative.
