Draper. Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Overall US Radio 10/26 #46 (+4) Beyoncé - CUFF IT 25.93 (+1.46)
chris1991 Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 I feel like this could go to number 1! (With the right support) I understand Bey taking her times with the visuals but imagine the impact they would have had on the songs if released closer together.

She’s letting the hype die by holding the visuals hostage. She was the topic of conversation and then she wasn’t. Other artists are taking the spotlight now.

I said this last night, but I'm starting to think she wants that "1B streams, Platinum Album in Units & #1 single (WITHOUT VISUALS)" tagline leading up to the second round of Grammy voting. If she continues to sell/stream the way she is, I would expect to see her burst back unto the scene with visuals and hopefully some signed vinyls (, as well as "Cozy" merch for winter/Christmas) sometime around American thanksgiving where folks are at home with family with money to spend. We'll see.

Yall really need to let go of the idea that they are just waiting for a specific moment to release sth. Its simply not ready yet, thats it. Edited October 27, 2022 by *-ChriZ-*

Both on here and elsewhere, there's been reliable talk of reshoots, scrapped shoots etc. So, I think this is more Bey wanting it to be just right and annoyingly exercising her clout to do it on her own time. She's said quite a bit in recent years that her workrate and priorities are different now. It's frustrating af. But I made peace with this after TG/BIK. I think the headache for most stans is that the BIK situation was "ok" because it was a side-project. She's bringing her antics to "main" projects...while somewhat playing ball (playlisting, preorders etc) which is new terrain for us. Any perks (like increased hype, viral fan demands, going Platinum before premiere) is purely coincidental IMO. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but because I'm very sold on the idea of something having gone "wrong" or being "unsatisfactory" (to her) initially, I feel like the "corrected" version will be worth it and blow us away. Be it an amended concept...or mind-blowing CGI (which takes way longer than a standard music vid)...or something else. We can debate her strategy or lackthereof til kingdom come, but I trust that they aren't tone deaf to the extent of coming with something wack, subpar, or polarizing. BIK was her grandest visual offering yet and I don't see her taking steps back from that when the stakes are objectively way higher this time.
Shinning Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 It is frustrating as fans to see others get SO much content while we don’t even get one video. But at least the music is top notch and I honestly would never think Beyoncé would ever be able to score two hits in one era in her 40s so when it comes to commercial success I’m very happy with the era.

You hit my sentiments on the head. It's all at once possible to be frustrated, while acknowledging the good/great. She had some pretty tall hurdles in front of her this time (ageism, streaming, TikTok) and is excelling on many of those fronts...so I can't even be mad. For the last decade, her success has literally been: 1 moderate-strong "hit" single (Drunk In Love / Formation), #1 album, solid album sales, and a smash tour. It's all been fairly rinse and repeat. Now, she's snagging two hits (the second shaping up to be bigger than the first), is sustaining album hype, has been constantly viral, and we still have the visuals to come. There's been a LOT to side-eye from this era, but when choosing to weigh-up the positive, she's fine.

Machete Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 Radio updates doing amazing. Spotify hold is great. I agree that I think this song will peak in Jan-Feb, while radio will most likely be at its peak. I can possibly even see a streaming peak then too, cuz it is really stable right now. This will easily outunit BMS in the US (WW not even a question cuz it's been obvious it would), just won't get that shiny #1 peak.
Kékette Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 The song is now #1 on the biggest french Spotify playlist (Hits du Moment), a boots is coming
