Yellowfever Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 I liked it it was fun and cute. Timothy did a good job.
genetic fail Posted December 10, 2023 Author Posted December 10, 2023 A critical AND box office success Haters found fuming! Can’t wait to see it tomorrow 2
genetic fail Posted December 12, 2023 Author Posted December 12, 2023 It was fine. Definitely more of a kids/family movie. Chalamet's acting was decent, nothing spectacular tbh. Could've had a few more voice lessons though... 1
D/X Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 This was cute. Loved the production design, and the songs were truly the standout, felt absolutely like a musical "A world of our ooooooown" Loved the villains, they were funny, and Olivia Colman spectacular as always, all the cast tbh were really good... ...with the exception of Timberly Chevrolet. A plain, flat performance... he lacks the charisma for this type of roles. He's better at crying and suffering. Paul King ****** up bad and was so biased by not making a casting, and going with him just for his popularity and that cringe video. He cannot sing. Thankfully the music was amazing, because it could've been a disaster.

cruelhprince Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 so fun!!! I can see this having really good legs

goldenrainbow222 Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 It was definitely a musical, but not overkill. It was cute and Timothee elevated the script along with Hugh Grant. I was happy to see Natasha Rothwell from Insecure in it.
Iceland Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 I didn’t know it was a musical i felt scammed, cute movie tho

Lovett Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Just back from watching this and it was so much fun! The music wasn't massively memorable, but was enjoyable in the context of the film. Olivia Colman kinda stole the whole thing for me tbh. A very enjoyable watch! 1
masochizm Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 This was a really nice watch, Timothee did an amazing job

DamianSolo Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 I saw it opening night, last Thursday, and had a good time. From the opening number, it was clear I had to readjust my expectations; it's been a long time since I've watched a film quite so, well, magical. Timothée's singing voice was decent enough to not be abrasive; it was actually pleasant in some moments. Willy Wonka isn't meant to be a Josh Groban, so I wasn't necessarily expecting flawless vocals and songs, but that just added to the overall charm of it. Whether it's more so for kids or not, it's something I enjoyed as an adult. I'd recommend it to people, if not for just being a good little charming escape from the real world for a couple of hours.
Julián Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Fantastic Timothée is so charming in this movie. Happy to see it’s doing well. He deserves it!
ctlp27 Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 The best word that comes to mind... Wonderful! I wish I was 8 or 10 to watch it, because that movie seems perfect for kids. It has the magic of the first Harry Potter and its whimsical new world, fully creative and warm. Songs are def won't be replayed to me but they were what they needed to be for that kind (a bit Mary Poppins-que) and Chalamet has all the charisma in the world.
