I Still think that Timotee was not a good choice for Wonka + he looks the same at all films

Yeah I don't buy Timothee as a Willy Wonka either

Watching him being a desert warrior in Dune in November and then him being a quirky chocolate factory owner in December is going to be a fun contrast :ahh:

Love my boy Timmy, but he seems miscast. :monkey: He doesn't have the stamina or quirkiness, unfortunately.

Timothy is miscast. He isn't goofy enough... and why doesn't he change his hair for the character? This doesn't excite me and the cinematography puts me to sleep. It's depressing to look at.

It looks boring. Like a Fantastic Beasts spin-off. And TC is miscast!

Why does this look like the cover of a book? :deadbanana:

It looks like a parody.

Everything looks cute and magical... with the exception of the lead lmao. Timmy Chevrolet is definitely miscast... a reverse Tom Holland experience. He can stay with the sad traumatized characters, cause he lacks the charisma and goofiness to pull this off. Stiff during the entirety of the trailer.

love me some TimoTea but he's the least convincing part about the trailer

and the previous 2 Wonka iteration didn't look like parodies?

the trailer itself looks ok, like a good enough family movie, but yeah timmy was miscast. he doesn't come off eccentric like the character should be. let's see how this turns out to be!

I think people are comparing this to the Johnny Depp films, when it's giving much more of the Gene Wilder type of Wonka. I can fully see Timothee aging into Gene and the eccentricity deepening. I'm intrigued by his performance.

Exactly. Timothy's performance, from what we see in the trailer, is reminding me so much of Gene Wilder's Wonka.

And like you said, I can see him growing into it more with the years.

I'm definitely excited for this. Don't think Timothy is miscast at all.

I think Timothee looks good but the movie looks kind of bad and generic. I associate Timothee with those A24-core movies so it's weird seeing him play it straight in a basic movie like this.

It's 100% influenced by Wilder's version. I didn't know ppl like the Depp version so much- it was always so whack :rip:

He's definitely not channeling Johnny's version. Their mannerisms are not similar at all. This is Gene all the way.

On the fence about Tim's casting though. I hated his acting in Little Women so much.
