Dahmer was actually good tho. People just did the most over it

Dahmer was good, however, the first half was incredibly overbloated IMO and dragged horribly. It really started being great with episode 6 and onwards.

Only seen two episodes of Monsters so far and I'm getting ACS:OJ flashbacks which is good!

I noticed Erik was in a movie called Swallowed which I had on my watch list. Should I watch it?

A companion piece where they tell their side of the story for the finger waggers in here.

I never liked Dahmer, it was boring. Should I bother with this one? Just like with Dahmer I have no idea about the story or these men.

Absolutely LOVED the Crime Series (all 3 seasons were exceptional imo), and now tunning this since it has always caused me some intrigue this case. Now on episode 3, don't know how to feel about the incest, don't know its accuracy, and the oversexualized scenes feel kinda off so far, like ok, we get it, they are attractive physically, but what's the purpose of those scenes. We'll see how it develops.

I honestly don't know which side to believe. I'm leaning towards the parents' side. I don't think they were sexually abused.

Finished episode 5, and damn, so far the most powerful episode, almost made me cry, it is crazy to sympathize with a murder, but I am here for it, trying to understand the murder's mind/human reasoning, that is an important point of view to take into account.

Even though I agree both of them are sociopaths, I believe sociopathy is strongly related to social contexts, so for sure, childhood could play a crucial role. For the way the parents were killed, the sexual abuse allegations do not sound crazy to me at all. I would hope they are untrue, because of how repulsive all the stories are. Such a f*cked up family dynamics.

In any caase, Cooper Koch is doing a phenomenal job, he carried the first half.

Are the phone tapes real? Both are them are as dumb as each other. First being recorded by the therapist and then saying all that on a phone call.

I knew the gays are gonna eat this up..lol everyone else is criticizing this piece of trash, deservedly so. The creep, Ryan Murphy has to make everything sexual, sticking to facts is too hard for this talentless hack.

Idk, I am probably in the minority with this: I very much liked the idea of ep 5 -an entire episode as one long shot- but this wasn't really it IMO it was simple and nicely done, but it didn't further the story in any way. Everything said has already been said before. Basically a filler episode. I mean, I guess we can deduce why this episode exists seeing who the Eric actor is, but I wished it had more meat to it to further the story. Something lavish and a perfectly choreographed long shot like they did on Haunting on Hill House would have been fantastic.

I understand your point, I agree with you to some extent, but I think its purpose was to show more in depth how complex the Erik Menendez persona is, how it was during all those years to be him and how all the alleged abuses ultimately altered his psyche. It was an intense therapy session, probably didn't add much, but it still was a way to understand better the alleged family dynamics. I must say that the storyline was a little disorganized (for me at least), but it is more realistic that way.

Cooper better win the emmy for the hurt man episode. That was a masterclass in acting,so deep,so raw and the tear drop at the right moment. He nailed that episode and it was just him basically during 36 mins. I believe they were abused since the cousin did actually tell their mom and she said they were lying and that singer who said jose menendez abused him and drugged him when he was 14. There is a pattern here. I believe they should be released and enjoy the remaining days of their lives. 100 times raped by yr dad and learning to do oral at such a young age. And saying he doesnt know his sexual orientation cuz thats all he knew and learning to masturbate at 6 year old. This struck me deep cuz i had a very similar experience as a kid not by my father thank god but with siblings. I thank ryan for that cuz i see a reflection of myself after so many years. I rewatched that episode 3 times already even though the guy is acting, i was reminded of my childhood watching porn at 5 years old.

I thought it was completely necessary because of how raw, disturbing, and emotional it is. It seemed to me that the point was to make you believe their story and understand the extent of their trauma because Erik's recollection of what happened to him is clearly authentic.

That said, Cooper Koch delivered an acting masterclass and deserves all the awards for that episode alone.

I think ryan explained it pretty well here. The show is supposed to be seen from many perspectives and what different things where being said about the brothers during the case and after it.

I just finished it!

It was alright, it was good!

It had some great momemt and some boring ones.

I also think Chloe Sevigny was terribly underused.
