Following the news about her announcing that this tour will probably be her last.

what area she could venture? Return to acting? Ambassador? just a songwriter? writer? Business woman? Study something? Host? what could Demi do?

She could live off royalties but I don't think she would be happy. Demi craves to be in the spotlight, so she'd come up with something messy all the time.

she is set for life by her plethora of moderate hits.

I don't think they will ever retire. There's a reason they haven't done it yet despite everything they have gone through. This is their world.

 

One thing I think it's gonna happen at some point is that they will have their Jennette McCurdy moment once they release their biography. That could create some buzz. 

 

Edit: I do think they will continue with a low music profile from now on. They don't seem to care about success anymore so they could explore other genres with some side projects (maybe gospel or jazz) or do some soundtracks here and there.

I think she can do well in Real Estate staging. I can imagine her as a new agent in Selling Sunset lol. She did great with her house.

I think Demi would continue putting out songs for a long time bc Demi loves creating music and genuinely has one of the largest unreleased catalogue bc of how prolific she is. But some alternatives: be a judge at a singing competition show like The Voice or American Idol. And then I can see Demi voice acting in animation movies or doing music-centered TV shows or movies (AKA musicals like Camp Rock). And performing at festivals is always an option, that isnt a tour necessarily just a few dates worldwide here and there and they pay well. Also I think Demi should go back into business world with skincare cuz Demi’s skin has always flawless and Demi had done it briefly in 2014, or a fashion line with more rock chic gender neutral clothing would also be cute! Lastly, Demi can become a songwriter for other singers, since Demi always has creative ideas for songs and can pitch the songs to other artists (Eat Me wouldve been a hit if Doja Cat took it for example). 

 

If all else fails: revive the Demi Path to Fame game! I still see people on Twitter converse about it.

I don’t blame her for wanting to retire the music industry and all its restrictions but Demi could still write her own music and release things independently. Even if it’s through GarageBand. 
 

TBH I wish all my faves could quit their labels and just make music on their own.
 

So many people care about charts or numbers but I just want my faves to release music.

Just cuz she loves doing music doesn't means she will find success making music

Demi is wrong for the last two albums she tried to find critical acclaim but she failed, she needs something fresh but with all the failures I don't know if her label would support her, she could do festivals and go for the route of Adult Contemporary or be a good and likeable person but that's unprovable

If Camila still hasn't got fired with 10x more support than Demi and such minimal results in comparison (we saw how Familia did on the charts), I don't think Demi has to worry about that.  They never invested much in her anyway and her catalog still makes her profitable.

She has alienated the GP so much these past few years (the yogurt scandal, being non-binary, her drug overdose...) that her private life has overshadowed her music career. I don't think a new label won't help much (to be honest, she would need an image revamp and better music more than a new label).

I disagree i think the last 2 albums were solid albums and got positive acclaim and fans appreciated the artistry. Its not as if Demi put out a “Smile” album that was mediocre. Both are very personal and interesting albums

Hollywood is clearly not a place for someone like her. I've been waiting for her since 2015 to leave the celebrity world and live a peaceful life without the toxicity from the industry. She's already set for life, she's got nothing left to prove and she doesn't have to think she has to prove something to somebody.

 

She could just go indie, live in a farm and become a niche/alternative artist a la Fiona Apple or Lana Del Rey, but with R&B, Soul or Jazz music.

 

Sadly, knowing Demi's personality, she won't. Celebrity world is everything she aspires to be and everything she knows since she was a child

She will never retire music and that's all it matters to me as a fan. I don't care if she never tour again. Demi is one of the rare pop-star who actually like and enjoy making music and performing.

I hope she will do some Netflix romcom as Victoria Justice did. With her profile, it surely will hit top trending on Netflix worldwide, especially, those who seek for Nostalgia. The GP may find interest in her again, and maybe push her back to the map. I don’t think she’s going to retire.
