Dark Phoenix Posted July 5 Posted July 5 The streets (and letterboxd) saying that this is very mid and not that good, or at least the worst of the trilogy…
Poxy Posted July 5 Posted July 5 After Pearl, it was hard to top…. But as long as it's enjoyable, I'm okay

Have A Break Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Watching this weekend! Can't wait! Excited to see which direction they'll go with this one since the first two were so different (and hoping for a little HOTD nod since this is also set in the 80s)
Badgalbriel Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Has anyone seen this yet? THinking about going today. Pearl was too good.

Spicy_TyTy Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Pearl was always going to be a hard follow-up, she deserved Oscar recognition
Roberto Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Allegedly the worst one. Anyway, excited for this. I'm always here for horror Mia Goth.
Dark Phoenix Posted July 6 Posted July 6 After reading the reviews I don't want to go to see it in cinemas maybe streaming. X was fun and with a cute aesthetic but Pearl was boring and felt like a short story dragged too long, I was kinda hyped for Maxie but the reactions is getting no thanks, I better not waste $15usd.

Definitely skippable. I saw it Wednesday, but it was just okay. For sure worst in the trilogy to me 1
sweetblindness Posted July 6 Posted July 6 (edited) I had high expectations for this but came away soooo disappointed. It was not nearly as thematically interesting or entertaining as X/Pearl and I just found this movie messy and undercooked. I was so bored that I was waiting for it to end, especially after the ridiculous third act reveal. This had so much potential and it was a huge letdown for me. Edited July 6 by sweetblindness 2
BrattyBottom Posted July 6 Posted July 6 I was sooooo disappointed. Had none of the highs of X or Pearl. Maxxxine's audition was probably the best part...Mia is really top notch at those scenes. My bestie and her boyfriend liked it more. I'd give it a strong 6 still but ultimately I was surprised I didn't feel more for it. 1
