Did Britney just body shame Christina's dancers?

Recommended Posts

She's obsessed but it's nothing new or surprising since her stans are just as obsessed as her. It's sad, but I guess she'll too find light and happiness some day, like Christina has, which ultimately, it's what it comes down to.

Good luck with that healing process, Miss Spears.

I can sympathize with her because honestly life is hard and difficult, but seriously, what is she doing? This is not erratic behaviour or anything, you can be an adult and still struggle with trauma, anxiety or depression, that's fine. She's clearly a capable adult who doesn't need cuddling in her own words, which I agree, but what is she doing?

She certainly seems undecided and incoherent:

  • She says she's sick of the limelight and attention, but she continues rambling on social media
  • She says she's tired of paparazzi being in her business, but she airs it out and publicly calls out her underage children on social media and creates more scrutiny and headlines (and don't bring that bs of her husband speaking and blah blah she's not dumb she and everyone knows who he is and what she was going to do, the smarter thing she could do is simly ignore him and not give him and ounce of attention)
  • One day she says she's done with music and performing, but the next one she's releasing songs with people that are clearly just using her for the attention her whole situation brings (The Weeknd, tho one of my faves, is doing it too with that HBO show of his she's rumored to appear or sing or whatever. She's still unable of recognizing people keep using and taking advantage of her)

And her fans constantly victimizing doesn't do any favours and it's honestly just not working anymore. No one says she has to be perfect, no one is, but one would have expected she would, I don't know, stay away from the public eye for a couple of years enjoy her life and fortune and just rest? Instead she's constantly rambling on IG. I mean it's her right to do so, but like, what is she trying to achieve, what does she want the world, the public to do with that information?

She also seems pretty narcissist, does she think she's the only female pop star who has been fatshamed or feel the pressure to be skinny? Most of them have beem from Mariah, to Gaga, to Rihanna, to Kelly Clarkson, to Demi, to Selena, etc. Xtina was and in one way still is mocked and ridiculed for her current body (specially by her own Army of fans so...). She's not only body shaming in general and Christina's dancers, she's clearly bodyshaming her for no reason completely out of the blue. I mean the post is certainly questionable, but the fact that she had to shoehorn Christina in it says a lot:rip: And her fans acting dense on purpose is just pathetic :skull:

Anyway some of Xtina's dancers have been by her side for over two decades and are neither fat nor out of shape. I don't know what certain user here is talking about Christina being able to have "hunks" as if Britney hasn't had her fair share of "hunks" in her tours and videos like, do you think people are stupid? Why would Britney complain about a man being ripped and compare herself to them, the post was clearly referncing the female dancers pls...some people should really tone down the gas lighting for real

I love Britney but there's no way to defend this :deadbanana2: I really don't get the animosity she has towards Christina, she hasn't said anything bad about Britney in over a decade

Not yall pretending to care about fatshaming now when we had a ''would you date an obese person'' thread a month ago that had some very nasty comments in it :deadbanana4: ATRL is so selective with what they hate and dont hate

LOL — Britney re-ignites a crusty old celebrity beef that I didn't even know still existed.

Perhaps she is angry at Aguilera's reaction to the conservatorship?

Do you mean the long-ass thread she wrote to support her?

It seems she has been following Xtina pretty closely over the years. You would think with what was going on in her life, she would have had other priorities. She brings up Xtina in the most random moments, like that letter to her sister.

Also, she just got married, has been fighting with her ex and son online, why not focus on nurturing herself through her new found love and therapy to get better and over her trauma.

It's also not healthy to be stuck in this victim loop.

This is what I agree with the most. I get that she's been through a lot and people heal at their own pace but she needs to snap out of this "poor me, I'm so traumatized, I will never be okay" mentality. Being so angry all the time is not healthy and there are people out there who have it so much worse. I say this as a stan.

This is such a nastee drag though :bibliahh:

I don't think even ATRLers came up with something like this :bibliahh:

Don't forget her "Happy Birthday Fausto" post, now that was bizarre af :rip:

People were WAITING to jump at Britney and call her a crazy skank again at the first given opportunity. How can people expect her to be normal? The woman has been under big brother surveillance her entire adult life and before that she was dressed up as the perfect little barbie doll virgin and put in a school girl outfit for creepy old men to masturbate to.

Everybody in here giving their mental health diagnosis or whatever is ****** in the head and yes xtina deserves to get dragged because she knew what Britney went through as a teen star and knew what was happening to her (as did everyone else in this corrupt evil industry) and didn’t say a damn thing. She knew her since they were children so that clearly means more to her than someone like Gaga who never knew her personally at all not speaking out.

I think she misunderstood what was going on there. Wasn't Xtina saying Happy Birthday to lots of names? I think she only saw a Jamie one and thought it was a jibe at her.

Defend her after that? Nope not me. Biggest fan her and biggest disappointment EVER. Im honestly just genuinely shocked. I don't think this even has anything to do with her mental health.

Very vicious of her. She needs to close her social media accounts and take a few years off. Get a better therapist. On top of all apologize publicly to Xtina and her dancers.

She's just thrown all of out hard work down the drain. After fighting for her for so long and believing in her. Her anger should have been directed towards her sons that have abandoned her and her father that locked her up and her sister that steals money from her instead. Disappointing.

That said, it is quite telling how the two fanbases are acting. Britney stans are like "yeah I can't defend this" while Xtina stans stay making jokes about her mental health and her marriage while pretending to be morally outraged. Give it up deelishis, you're not convincing anyone.

I always support her takes on her personal matters but whenever she talks about some other public figure it's always something completely uncalled for.

Also it's rather weird that she keeps up with who Christina chooses as dancers.

Yeah I know the context, but can she just take a deep breath and evaluate what the context is? It was just so nasty and low, that's why she should honestly close social media because in all honestly I don't think she's prepared for it (at least not at the moment) and it's probably doing her more harm than good, both from the point of view of what she puts out, the feedback she gets and what people say about her

I mean, chill a bit. She just said that popstars pick dancers that flatter them. Shorter people choose shorter dancers etc. It's common knowledge in the industry. She didn't phrase it the perfect way and she shouldn't have mentioned names but it's still true.

Ultimately, I agree. Social media is not the place to be airing these grievances. She needs to get some good people around her to educate her about what the world is like and what's acceptable to say because she's been in arrested development since 2007. Just get off socials and do some work on herself instead of venting every single day. It's not healthy.

Gurl, I love Britney more than anything but why sugarcoat her mess? She literally posted a quote saying " Hang out with fat people" and then mentioned Xtina..... Yet AGAIN.

She messed up big time. She needs to delete her socials and find an outlet for her anger. This isn't gonna end well for her.

Yeah you're right but it's not like you have to burn your stan card for one fuckup.

I really hope she recognises the legitimate backlash to this and makes an apology
