So one protestor out of like tens of thousands, all of whom were holding signs with similar messaging, was arrested moved from the spot she was physicaly occupying? I wonder if she did anything to cause a disturbance and attract the attention of the police, thereby giving sufficient cause to temporarily detain her by the standards of a typical Western democracy?

Quote

The 22-year-old — whose sign read “F–k Imperialism! Abolish Monarchy” — was cuffed in “connection with a breach of peace,” a spokesperson for Police Scotland told The Post.

It is unclear if she has been charged.

The woman was among protesters who aimed to disrupt the ceremony, which involved officials repeating the declaration made on Saturday in London that Charles was the new sovereign of the United Kingdom.

Many in the crowd told the woman to show some respect, but one person apparently defended her, saying “Let her go, it’s free speech,” according to the Evening Edinburgh News.

This sounds like extremely major news that should definitely distract one from, say, condemning active genocides currently being conducted in countries around the world, including but not limited to the Eastern European geographic area.

2 protestors temporarily detained and let go after a few hours in a democracy with 0 harm done to their person or body = major, major, international breaking news

6,000 civilians brutally murdered by a foreign invading country = I sleep

Is there a protest law in the UK or something?

Illegally detained as a violation of their rights and intimated by the police with the threat of arrest. The values of free speech and free assembly are central to Western democracy and you're sat here defending a dynastic monarchy having people arrested for calling for the end of their unelected, unlawful reign? Royalists are ******* wild. :ahh:North Korea teas. :ahh:

No, corrupt UK police are just trying to win royalists' adoration given the recent police brutality scandal:

It's so embarrassing that you're cosplaying as a defender of "free speech" after defending Chinese and Russian genocides to hell and back on this very forum. I actually felt physical shivers of second-hand humiliation on my back from reading this response of yours.

Sis, you're literally misappropriating the suffering of dead Ukrainians to justify illiberal activity in the UK, in the form of accusing anyone who isn't "more focused on Russia" as "defending Russia" AND suggesting to focus on other forms of authoritarianism in Europe (a huge continent) is "ignoring Russian violence". :deadbanana4:

Ukrainians are suffering, but... how does that then mean conversations can't be had about the misgivings of power held by the British Royal Family or the killing of innocent black Brits by UK police?

In what way does the killing of Chris Kaba by London police have to be dlsclaimered by "don't forget about Ukraine"? Are you actually suggesting talking about racism and violence in the UK "takes away from Ukraine"?? :deadbanana4:

6000 civilians dead in the Ukraine = I sleep

2 people in the UK detained for a few hours because of their protest signs = absolutely outrageous misappropriation of the "suffering" of Ukrainians

You are a disgusting genocide apologist who couldn't give a **** if all 41 million Ukrainians were summarily executed by the glorious Soviet Empire (which is oh-so anti-Nato and deliciously politically incorrect!) so let's cut the crap.

????????? You're literally the only one suggesting these two things be compared in any context??

Do you really think this random outburst to defend not only the Royal Family but British police is not a mask off moment for people reading? Do you think everyone reading has the same illogical grudges and biases as you? :deadbanana4:

The way the UK is currently in the pits of hell but 90% of the people here have been brainwashed to just accept that the country is in decline so they don’t even try to protest against the government or the royal institution.

Imagine defending pedophiles and racists for a fake and dead queen. It's giving Nicki Minaj Base.

Honestly I'm in London rn and it's kind of a kii how no one gives a **** about the queen dying. But it's plastered EVERYWHERE. Every screen (and there are lots) has Her Majesty The Queen 1926-2022 on it. News anchors dressed in black. Some companies have suspended meetings for the week (??). I'm sorry but she was NINETY SIX. It's not a tragedy. She was practically dead already and we already had a whole week of celebrating her with the jubilee, all this is not necessary. It's so blatantly choreographed and really gives the (probably correct) impression that the people at the top of all these companies and media organizations and such either have aristocracy ties or want them for their benefit and it's really for those people. And also to keep the population complacent and accepting of the monarchy. It's really giving dystopia teas. Like, there are people who are going to freeze to death this winter because they can't pay 2500 pounds to heat their homes. Kim there are people dying but literally.
