professor2000 Posted April 30 Posted April 30 @OnMyCoolJ what? The Gift featured African artists, and she's African. Lol. Also, not too far fetched considering Bey sent her flowers recently…which she only does for ppl she collabed with or respect. So idk…might be something there. We shall see.
sciencemagic Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Had no idea this was in the making until I saw the trailer before Inside Out 2. This movie sounds like a "wait till it comes on Disney+" flick, but inb4 The Gift: Mufasa Reloaded
ICLDXU4HS Posted November 9 Posted November 9 This looks so insanely ******* dull. Is the Moonlight directeur not embarrassed? It's giving when people used to dub and parody old PS2 games.

Babydoll. Posted December 3 Posted December 3 saw the trailer for this in the cinema and had to laugh. i had forgotten how bad the realistic animals speaking looked perched for the soundtrack tho xx
Hector Posted Tuesday at 08:52 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 08:52 PM (edited) Now at 60% on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics consensus: Barry Jenkins' deft hand and Lin-Manuel Miranda's music go some way towards squaring the Circle of Life in Mufasa, but this fitfully soulful story is ill-served by its impersonal, photorealistic animation style. One I'll save for Disney+. However, I think we know that like Moana 2, this'll still do huge numbers at the box office regardless of the mixed reviews. Parents have found the perfect movie to take their kids to for the Christmas season. Edited Tuesday at 08:53 PM by Hector
fridayteenage Posted Wednesday at 03:26 AM Posted Wednesday at 03:26 AM slightly higher metascore than Lion King, and that made buckets of money. we'll see how far nostalgia takes this.
Cbreezy Posted Wednesday at 08:36 AM Posted Wednesday at 08:36 AM The critics seem resolute on moaning about the same things they did about the 2019 film, which I think is unfair. Complaining about a live-action film is "impersonal" because it's "photorealistic" is late when you know you're getting on the tin. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this. Always wanted an original story in The Lion King world but also realize that it made total sense to introduce the original to the main story in live-action form before spinning off into new tales.
Eóghan Posted Wednesday at 11:41 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:41 PM thank god for overseas box office because according to previews it's lookin like quite the underperformance for the US this weekend. Sonic 3 is expected to do double what Mufasa will do this is very telling case of bad word of mouth from the 2019 live action.

Yeah, the previous film was poorly received so Mufasa will take a massive hit. Disney isn't reliant on pre-sales and they are the kings of walk-ups, so I don't think half of Sonic 3 is on the table. I also still expect the film to outgross Sonic 3, though its starts in China and South Korea are very worrying.
XDNA Posted Friday at 05:53 PM Posted Friday at 05:53 PM I was skeptical about a Mufasa movie. The main was Simba and will always be.
