I'll be perched for the story but I wish it would be 2d animation and not the lifeless realistic CGI (tho it looks better than the 2019 one)

"Introducing blue ivy"

Beyonce is an amazing performer but acting or voice acting is not her strength. Maybe she's improved but her performance in TLK was not that good.

The shameless nepotism

I wish these movies would give real voice actors the gigs as they're way better than celebrities and their kids

Didn't Taylor's dad buy her a recording contract? Sit downnn

Also  is it me or is the animation a little less real-looking compared to the 2019 TLK?

This actually looks really good :clap3:

Beyonce is a terrible voice actress. Beyonce needs to keep focusing on music and her private businesses.

Great another voice character ruined by beyonces sleepy, slurred voice

it's literally the same character :juanny:

acting like this soulless corporate trash movie would be any less terrible with or without her :juanny:

The new songs are being written by Lin Manuel-Miranda so this is going to be an easy cheque for Beyoncé with little creative pressure and she is able to leverage paid work experience for Blue at the same time.

Although I can't imagine bothering to bring back Beyoncé and Donald Glover and not give them one song to sing as part of the wrap around narrative; they are already relying a lot on the original music as well just to make sure the locals are sat so I could see them doing a reprisal of an OG song at the very least.

I doubt this will gross anywhere near the $1.6b of the 2019 film though and feels like another Alice Through the Looking Glass / The Marvels situation that won't repeat the unique circumstances that took their predecessors to such heights. Either way releasing in December will give it a lengthy box office run into the new year which should soften the blow of any harsh initial drop.

The way the 2019 TLK remake singlehandedly ruined my view of all the live action remakes and made me lose all interest in the subsequent remakes (except for TLM which I watched cause the original is my 2nd all time fave Disney film behind Cinderella 1950)

perched for another "Are you with me lions?" moment :clap3:

To be honest that's the most iconic thing out of that movie. Thank you Beyonce. :clap3:

Sorry, Bey, but not even you can make me care about these creatively bankrupt remakes/spinoffs. This looks AWFUL. :deadbanana4:

Hoping for THE GIIFT tho.

Based on what I've read, the plot is going to be better than the original Lion King movie, so it's definitely worth watching.

Nepo baby. The government needs to do something about this. Thousand children gave up their dream to become an actor cuz they never stood a chance against kids like Blue Ivy.

We will NOT be watching.

Is this actually a real problem? :rip:

Different director so I'm hoping it's an improvement over the first one. Animation looks weird still unfortunately

Keke Palmer would have been a much better Nala. I'm sure they paid Beyonce quite well, but she brought absolutely nothing to the first film. I am happy for Blue.

The fact that they're releasing this in the Christmas season means that the studio believes in Barry Jenkins' vision to do well around awards season. Looking forward to it!

Cats was also released during Christmas season. We all know how it turned out :suburban:

Why is Nala in the prequel? It doesn't make sense! :deadbanana4:
