I don't believe in monarchy, but is this really comparable?  One is a dictator that leads by fear and actually brainwashing while committing atrocious war crimes, the other is a figurehead that is effectively living in a gilded cage? Her ancestors have done monstrous things but she's lived a pretty solid life of service with very little controversy, let alone murdering her people.

Because they probably already told them this is it. Doctors know when someone is dying. She's not going to the hospital for a reason. It probably means there's no treatment that can save her at this point. Better to give her morphine and have her say goodbye to her family and pass away in her own home.

i don't wish ill on anyone but I'm not gonna pretend that a wealthy white woman who never had to struggle dying in her 90s is tragic or sad. she's been living off my taxes without my consent, the least i can get is a bank holiday when she croaks.
