This is such a misconception. Australia was a penal colony... in the 19th century. Only about 20% of Australians are descendants of those convicts. 

I don't think its true at all that the Queen is hated here. If anything respect for her is what has kept us in the commonwealth for so long.

the world lost its leader today. She has served not just the people of the Great United Kingdom but all of the world and commonwealth. She will be remembered as the best of humanity, a binding force for the country. All races , colours, sexual persuasions, religions, age , class, she binds our nation together. I have been on the verge of tears all day. I am utterly and totally devastated

Will history remember this day as the last day of Monarchy as a "government system" on a global scale? I know they weren't doing much already but I can't see the British monarchy surviving (especially with Charles ) this and the others are beyond irrelevant at this point.
