No one is acting like the war of the roses is about to break out, but this WILL have worldwide ramifications. Yeah I fully expect countries of the Common Wealth to drop Charles as their head of state like Barbados did in a few months/years.

People will act as if nothing once she's six feet under, of course it will be a wold wide event but thats all. People saying she's the glue that held all those commonwealth countries together are really weird, as if she was some sort of white saviour I think it’s more like when a CEO resigns or is fired from a company, if they were a good leader it can shake faith in the market (i.e. cause the company stock to go down), if they were a bad leader, it can lead to a rally in the market (i.e. stock goes up). Or just think about how the markets initially fell when Trump was elected in the US. I think similar to that, the Queens death will have an impact on UK’s “stock”, or public image, across the rest of the world. Especially when compounded with their contracting economy and all of the Brexit and PM drama. At minimum, it can act as negative PR that leads to suboptimal outcomes for the country. What those outcomes are, we won’t know till they happen.
KatyPrismSpirit Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 is there any detail as how late she died ? UK timezone. i feel like she was dead pretty long before the announcement. like in the morning

Her passing could be a huge moment for those waves to be set in motion
fridayteenage Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Now the people who caused this are ruling the UK:
Minogue Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 FLIGHTS TO LONDON ARE AS USUAL??? I’m flying in like 15 hours

Charles and Camilla will not have as much affection from the GP as Elizabeth did, but things will keep ticking over. At least image wise,I feel like when William take over it will have a bit of a resurgence. He'll be a relatively young king, and they'll probably try to have a more approachable and lowkey image. Also the children will become big celebrities when they get older. He and Charles won't have the cultural and political impact that the Queen had. It will be a new thing, something more similar to other royal families like Monaco, Sweeden etc. It will be very interesting to see how this will unfold.
DirtyPony87 Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 I wonder if this will be covered on The Crown. Perfect end to the series. Anyway, I’m glad this racist, colonizing hag is not drawing breath on this Earth anymore. I hope the workers of Britain get a day off work from this, though.

It's kinda scary because constitutional monarchy offers more stability than a republic and makes it harder for a dictator to take over. So large countries like Canada, Australia, and New Zealand becoming a republic could have huge implications on the world stage.

Like nothing grand will happen because of this woman's death, they will drop her as head os state as others like Barbados have done, a few changes in institutions probably and then everything will go back to normal

On a global scale tho, no one is going to think of Charles as a great man of stature that can hold together an empire (not even his own mother did) In the UK maybe, but we currently have a Prime Minister who originally called for the abolishment of the monarchy Worldwide this will definitely change the monarchy as Charles doesn’t command the same respect and “need” for a monarchy especially with Camila by his side. No way can countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India and many other Common Wealth countries justify having Charles as their head of state and “King”. I’ll be surprised if in 5 years half of the common wealth haven’t removed him.

harwee Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 The way I thought the thread was a joke given how many similar threads we've had
infrared Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 She had a long privileged life. Death is inevitable - I’m sure she was expecting it - Rest In Peace. The monarchy is outdated anyway
Gov Hooka Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Rot in hell! all of you bootlickers saying rip are so weird lol.

I don't think it will as it was never part of the initial plan. The final season (season 6) is apparently supposed to go up to the early 2000s, and that's where the series will end, so they won't even touch on the past 20 years. Although maybe they could extend it. Although there's not much that has happened in the past 20 years with the monarchy, it's been a pretty boring 2 decades, which is why I think they want to finish on a big moment, which will be the aftermath of Diana's death.
Gui Blackout Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Have they started to attack Meghan for some reason yet?
Billionaire Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Once Philip died I knew it was only a matter of time before death hit her too Charles & Camilla's approval ratings are terrible from what I've seen and I feel like death is gonna hit him soon anyway Gonna be interesting to see the effect of this globally
