Wait, is this referring to Liz Truss lol

Yes.

I feel like social media now looks at every public figure through a "yourfaveisproblematic" type of lens :skull:

Like... it's not just some celebrity death. We can talk about the significance of the Queen's role on the world stage and how it's the end of an era for one of the most impactful countries while also acknowledging that the Monarchy is bad and the Royals have covered up a lot. Let's be adults.

That comes down to the developers they're using as a forum which isn't changing unless they have the funds (which they don't) and unless you want an entire change-over with all the thread history wiped again like they tried to last time (somewhat, and a mod's apparently against that) which would take weeks, which they don't want to do. Believe me, I've asked.

No please - we wiped all those iconic threads, and it didn't get better.

@naval23 agrees :lakitu:

RIP. Both she and her late husband were very close to reaching 100 (simply round to the nearest ten), but just missed it

RIP.  I also never thought I'd see Charles as king (and the media told me so so many times), so this will be an interesting time, for sure...

It's kind of hard to imagine the world without the Queen. None of us or our parents (and some of our grandparents) have ever known a world without her as reigning Monarch. She was not perfect (and who is over 96 years of life), but she led one of the most remarkable lives in human history. Still barely a teenager when she was pushed onto the Throne, and had to figure out how to manage the world's largest empire while she was still growing up herself.

RIP Queen

She's really gone, huh. RIP. She was literally doing her duties until like yesterday, good for her.

I felt like this with Betty White. 2 global queens

Shocking. It kind of seemed like she would live forever since she was the only British monarch in our lifetime. Rest In Peace.

Love or hate the monarchy this woman was too impactful and important, I think the world will change with her passing away, not in a drastic way but she was holding many nations together.

Charles becoming King is very on brand with the 2020s, definitely a darker world after so many things happening so far.

And this will be the end of the Monarchy.

She will probably take it all with her.

Rest in peace Queen. The end of an era

The fact that all the focus is on Elizabeth and King Charles III and nobody is talking about Queen Camilla.

True, Twitter is obsessed with making everything extremely black and white and ignoring that most issues have large degrees of nuance. Like I don’t agree with the monarchy but Elizabeth II was great in her role as Queen.

She probably feels a bit awkward considering she was all for abolishing the monarchy at the start of her political career.

Maybe young Liz is about to get her wish.

Because social media nowadays is more about scoring woke/edge points than contributing anything to an actual conversation.

There are people out there with woke takes that are actually trying to do good and educate/advocate for serious issues, but most people just want to score Internet points by posting facts that most people are already aware of + do nothing to actually contribute to any kind of progress or moral good.

Twitter is an actual cesspool of a bunch of sheep who don’t even realize they’re sheep because all their friends are in on the latest hot take of the death of some problematic figure. Like guess what Mimi, 100% of people are problematic it’s human nature, no one gives a ****, the b**** is dead let’s just move on. :deadbanana:

Your life and the rest of the world's will literally still be the same pls :rip:

My life isn't going to be immediately impacted but this is a significant moment in modern history and will change the course of the world. She was the glue holding together the commonwealth. It's not going to be "the same, pls :rip:  "
