Are they seriously going to be changed? Seems so pointless :rip:

They make new bank notes and coins every year, I doubt the old ones will be taken out of circulation for a while

Finding this speech from Liz Truss very disrespectful. She can barely get through her lines without constantly looking down and reading off her paper. She should be addressing us all with eye contact and a heartfelt speech rather than this wooden mess.

She's been PM for like 3 days give her a little slack

Wow I really thought she would make it to 100, rip queen

I definitely get it. The Queen has been a constant in our lives for so long. It feels strange for change to happen. It was going to happen anyway but it was so sudden considering her appearance two days ago with the new PM. I expected her to live until she was 100 like her mom.

Absolutely. She's just been such a constant, it's really surreal to not have her reigning any longer. These next few days and this whole transition to us having a King is going to be quite a strange one.

FIX THE SERVERS HOLY ****

That comes down to the developers they're using as a forum which isn't changing unless they have the funds (which they don't) and unless you want an entire change-over with all the thread history wiped again like they tried to last time (somewhat, and a mod's apparently against that) which would take weeks, which they don't want to do. Believe me, I've asked.

Right. Like just hearing "God Save The King" a few minutes ago felt so weird. Just not used to it.

She probably feels a bit awkward considering she was all for abolishing the monarchy at the start of her political career.

Maybe young Liz is about to get her wish.

It was truly jarring. I think I'm just a bit stunned at the moment!

I don't understand the edgy, callous comments and the unfunny jokes. I don't believe in monarchy and find it antithetical to modern ideals, but this is a massive moment in history.

It's like one of the last vestiges of the 20th century is gone and we're entering new territory.

This is... wow! A surprise.

Awful news. But I’m so happy she’ll get to be reunited with her lovely family in hell. ?

Liz Truss is a terrible speaker and makes Boris look amazing, I'm not surprised at all.

Wow! I'm not really shocked or stunned. Her health has be declining for years. She's now reunited with Prince Phillip.

May she rest in peace.

The end of an era.

I wonder if some commonwealth countries like Canada or Australia will be considering republicanism now. Queen Elizabeth was the glue holding them together.
