Green Posted September 5, 2022 Author Posted September 5, 2022 The fact that "WAP" didn't reach #1 on Urban Radio but "Ring", "Twerk", "Backin' It Up", "Clout" and "Hot ****" did
Аshanti Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 Yeah I was gonna say about WAP So this is compensation for that

Power love Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 & y’all had the nerve to say she’s over . She always wins at the end!
slw84 Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 why are people surprised about WAP? The clean version was not very radio friendly but it did the best it could based on the content.

Was the explicit song the one that hit #1 or a radio edit version. Also, which month did it hit #1 on urban radio? I recall when WAP peaked and what was out competing against it.

I'm not sure about the City girls song but I don't know what was competition against them at the time. I do recall big songs up against WAP and since WAP was so explicit yet the clean version was so watered down and took the magic out of the song that I was happy that it reached as high as it did considering the content. Hopefully I didn't seem like I was trying to chomp you off @Armani? Edited September 5, 2022 by slw84
