It just depends on the context, but most black people in the comments/qrts under that tweet disagree with her. This is a disingenuous tweet and literally white saviorism.   Honestly, this is why I don't trust most of these 'online activists' especially the ones who are yt because they just get defensive when they are wrong but overlook bigger issues that are harmful to the groups they claim to advocate for.

I wouldn't say it's always wrong or problematic, but there is something to be said about how white people exploit black culture and entertainment online, including pictures and videos/gifs. 

 

It's a nuanced discussion, I don't think it's wrong to call it out.

sorry to double post but yes. white saviors are really annoying but so is

chalking up any criticism concerning identity up to "white saviors are upset" 

or "this is such a non issue". at least try to engage with the conversation

instead of being dismissive because behind a good chunk of white saviors 

are actual people of color that have sensible arguments around this type

White people can and should use gifs of black people, that actually has no baring on whether they're racist.

 

I just want actual racism to stop. Gifs aren't a part of white supremacy.

 

Black people do have some iconic reaction gifs so they get used frequently, it isn't a blackfishing thing. I use gifs of white and Asian people also but I'm not thinking of race when I do it, I also don't think white people are when they do either.

She's not...completely wrong. There does seem to be a disproportionate amount of black people reaction gifs. Since hearing of digital blackface, i've been more vigilant about my own use.
