Madonna now has 23 albums getting a Top 10 placing in the USA! Here's the full list

1985 - Like a Virgin (Released in 1984. Peaked in 1985 for 3 weeks)

1986 - True Blue (5 consecutive weeks)

1989 - Like a Prayer (6 consecutive weeks)

2000 - Music (1 week at its peak. Biggest 1st week sales for Madonna ever: 420k 11 years after her last #1 album)

2003 - American Life (1 week - 241k)

2005 - Confessions on a Dancefloor (1 week - 350k)

2008 - Hard Candy - (1 week  - 280k)

2012 - MDNA - (1 week - 359k - her 3rd biggest debut ever)

2019 - Madame X - (1 week - 95k)

 

Total #1 albums: 9

 

#2:

1990: I'm Breathless - Peaked for 2 weeks at #2.

1991: The Immaculate Collection - Released in 1990, peaked at #2 for 2 weeks in January 1991.

1992: Erotica - 167k. Sold less 6k than the #1 album in its debut)

1996: Evita - Peaked at #2 for 2 weeks, in its 5th and 6th weeks since release. Tragic Kingdom from No Doubt didn't allow it to hit a #1 position)

1998 - Ray of Light - 371k. Biggest debut ever at the time for a female artist - nowadays Madonna's 2nd biggest debut ever - and still missed the #1 placement due to Titanic OST :deadbanana4:)

2015  Rebel Heart - 121k - Missed the top spot for 9k sales. First major release to miss the top spot due to lack of streams)

#3:

1994: Bedtime Stories - Peaked in its debut, with 145k albums sold. Peaked lower than its predecessor, but had more logevity due to Take a Bow and ended outselling its predecessor. Madonna's comeback era started here.

 

#6:

1995: Something To Remember - Peaked in its debut with 113k units sold. 

 

#7:

1987: Who's That Girl - Soundtrack for the movie of the same name. Peaked a month after its debut. 

2001: GHV2 - Peaked in its debut, with 150k units sold. An improvement over her previous GH album release, Something to remember.

2009: Celebration - Peaked in its debut, with 72k units sold. Had other appearances after Glee and Superbowl. Certified Gold.

 

#8:

1984: Madonna - Peaked more than a year after its debut in 1983: October 1984. It was the #27 best selling album from 1984 and #25 in 1985.

2022: Finally Enough Love - Sells 30k in its first week. Madonna's first top 10 for a remix album. First remix album to hit the top 10 in many years. 

 

#10:

Sticky & Sweet Tour - Sold 28k on its debut week (not counting the Blue-Ray edition and editions with no CD).

The fact that she debuted in the top 10 with a remix album, no vid, no promo and not even a new photoshoot! Impressive!

Damn!! Well done Madonna. This remix album was clearly something for the fans (hence the lack of promotion) and it's good to see she still has a faithful fan base still buying her physicals :clap3:

I am glad the remix album did well because it leaves an open possibility of mote investment in the promotion of future releases.

23 top 10 albums is insane- the consistency is unparalleled almost. six #2 albums is rather iconic.

Would they count as new releases though? They would still be counted towards her original albums unless they are new recordings like Taylor is doing.

They will be released only as remastered and deluxe editions.

It's certainly a lot. <3

 

Most pop gurls won't see 1/4th of that, much less the amount of Barbs and Madge.
