Also, 2 SIDES  and the contrast between 2 pictures is very interesting. What if Side A consists of beautiful storytelling ballads, midtempos and the second part is about overcoming those struggles and empowerment  oof I would love that!

I don't know why it's so controversial to think that these are essentially vault tracks. I think that she probably reworked, rewrote them, etc. But I don't think it's farfetched to think that during the rerecording process she found a bunch of songs throughout her career and realized a common theme of some were that they were written in the middle of the night. She decided to take those as the jumping off point for this. That's how I viewed the album intro she wrote. Of course, it could be 13 completely newly written songs that are reminiscing on these moments in her life. I guess we'll have to see.

As someone who's not into her poppier albums much I expect this to be a mix of her commercial side and her "alternative" one, kind of like a grey zone after a big amount of black and white ones, I really hope to love it. Any news on the genre?

I’m expecting the sound to be a mix of her alternative albums and her pop albums. Maybe some lo fi bedroom pop. Also lots of bangers as this album was probably made with touring in mind. I’m guessing much of the album will be uptempo. I think Max is back. 

First of all WTF. I legit slept at like 9:30pm complaining saying I wished taylor would announce an album to then find out she did and being served with the artwork and title and stuff!!! so friggin excited!

 

I will say however, the album pictures are giving me Halsey vibes....I hope the music isnt like that. I like Halsey but idk...that type of "alt-pop / grungy aesthetics" is kind of cringe sometimes. I need Tay to go all the way and ELEVATE. So excited for this yall

It's extremely common to use "old" songs, or songs that you started writing long ago, on your new projects, and Taylor has probably done that on all of her studio albums.

Also now that shes found joy in filmmaking i wish she'd release a visual album 

I think the fact that she’s going to tour this record next year and re-release not only 1989 (her most commercially successful album) but also Speak Now (arguably her most critically underrated album) while touring, and garner even MORE good will from the GP, old fans, new fans, music industry, and critics alike means she’ll have a 450-500M grossing tour on lock

that was my first thought when I read the announcement! She herself calls it a collection of songs so it’s not far fetched to think redoing the vault tracks and exploring the songs she’s written before are what inspired this. 
 

plus she’s completely halted with TV, unless she wants to release debut next, so it makes sense to release more reworked vault tracks
