PLEASEEEEEEE this was my first thought as well  as much as I question them employing a Riverdale mode of adapting children aimed material into weird edgy YA fair, my thirsty ass is glad they cast hot eye candy 

 

OT: I'm about to finish the season, and I'm kinda shook that I genuinely like it? It still has an over excessive use of cursing to seem "with the times", but the plot is more interesting to me now. And beyond the eye candy, them starting to adapt

is keeping me invested. I hope they get renewed so we can see how they adapt all of that. Also thank god they

Toned down the whiny gay guy's role dnfjfkfkf the falling in love with a straight dude schtick was getting old, and they made him very annoying, so him getting less screentime was good for me.

Also, Flora's inclusion was ok. It felt like they kinda just inserted her for the sake of having her, cause to me she didn't really change the dynamic of the group all that much. But she was fine so I'm not gonna complain. And

All in all, solid 7/10 for me.

I had a free day today and it was only 7 episodes lmao. And in terms of homo stuff, spoilers:

It's not concerning any of the guys  it's that Terra comes out

and the guy on guy stuff we do get isn't explicit at all, in fact it made me laugh fjfnff 

 

Anyways, now I'm finished finished and spoilers:

The transformations made me laugh, I'm sorry  like it was so messy. Magical girl transformations really don't work in live action unfortunately dnfjfjfj.

Also the ending kinda ticked off like half a point for me ngl  they really said we might not get renewed, but let's just end it on a downer and tease a s3. And neither were done really satisfyingly xjjfkfkd MESS

My thought is that if you can tolerate Riverdale/Sabrina, then you can make it through this lmao. This is just a TV-MA version (mostly seen in the script) of those shows, with the added bonus that it has some semblance of cohesiveness because it does follow some of the source material, just that it's been Netflix-ified. A solid "if you're bored, then this is entertaining enough to hold your interest" kinda show.
