With how short the wait was between Books 1-3, they definitely could have spread them out more. They didn't know if the rest of the saga was going to be greenlit, though.

 

I'm sure the pandemic played a large part in the 3-year gap. TDP has a fairly active following on Twitter so there's hope the hype will pick back up a bit. If this season is underwhelming after 3 years, though...

 

I need a recap as well. Thankfully, each season has 9 episodes and they range from 24-33 minutes. SUPER easy to binge.
