Any chance we will get another one sooner than the 2013 one? Also we rewatched the 2013 one and it is still far superior.

But I enjoy them all greatly. :clap3:

Bruce Campbell stated that he, Sam and Ivan Raimi were planning a possibility for future films in the franchise "every two years" if Evil Dead Rise is a success..

Hope so! I was a big fan of the 2013 remake

Horror stays winning. This was cute :clap3: Hoping the wait for the next one isn't as long.

Praying this happens :jonny3:This franchise has proved they can expand on Evil Dead universe in so many different ways. Different locations, time periods, etc..

Just finished watching this it was so good

Saw a surprise premiere of this last night and tons of people started walking out from the moment girlfriend’s scalp got snatched and onward.

I thought it was cute although it only picked up with the bathtub scene. Kinda dragged for a while before that. I’d say it’s the worst in the series but still slightly above average.

Y'alls mediocre thoughts aren't ruining my hype for some reason but I can't get anyone to go watch it in the theater with me so ig I'll be waiting a while for streaming since it's a hit d

Just went to watch again last night and it only reaffirmed that this one is really good. It’s so fun and it freaked out one my friends. I really hope they keep making more of these!!

Go by yourself. Why do you need someone else to go with you?

How graphic is this in comparison to the last one?

Well this is good. The last one was far too graphic in my opinion.

Personally if I'm watching a movie by myself I'd like to do it in my home and have a joint and a tall cup of orange juice to go along with it lol, it's the getting there alone and having no one to talk to about it right after then the going home by myself that would get me sad, just me.

Going to see this again tomorrow  my friend hasn't seen it yet so I'm excited to see her reaction

Just got back from seeing this. ******* amazing. I have to see it again in theater.

Its just in comparison with the rest of the series to be honest. Otherwise it steps on the necks of most horror movies.

Insidious, the Conjuring, Sinister, Smile, the Badabook, Lights Out, Hereditary, Malignant all shits on this remake.

This isn't a remake it's a sequel. Also, you're naming some of the most acclaimed horror movies of the last decade. If it's compared to some of the contemporary horror movies eg. The Pope's Exorcist it clears.

I was so excited for this but it ended up being so...mediocre? There was literally no reason for this to be an Evil Dead movie :rip:,  it lacked the charm and comedy undertones that made the original franchise so beloved. Cool production value, setting, make up and gore but that doesn't make it a good Evil Dead movie. I kept thinking about Smile while watching and how much more effective it was as a horror movie.

Oh hush :michael:… always complaining.

As someone who has seen all the Evil Dead movies and the series, and has paid for a ticket I can and will complain.

It's good for a horror movie, it's mediocre for an Evil Dead movie.

Power love

I always feel like this before going alone, but once I'm at the theater I have a blast, sometimes when I go with someone I get too anxious thinking if they are gonna like or hate the movie lol :deadbanana2:

I beg to differ. I used to think Insidious was great when it first came out, and re-watching it again, I realize it's so dated. Malignant was cool and creative, but it just simply wasn't as good as Wan's other work (i.e. Conjuring movies). Sinister is solid for a few scares, but the ending really doesn't stick to the landing.

I do agree The Conjuring movies/Lights Out/Hereditary > Evil Dead Rise.

That being said, I still enjoyed Evil Dead Rise. It's just overhyped/overrated imo.

I could hardly sit through this. It was awful. They relied on the gore aspect way too much. :deadbanana2:

Difference of opinions.

Still think Evil Dead Rises is in the same category as the Nun. Wasn’t scary at all.
