And yet it's a hit. lol That's the only thing that matters. Back to the topic, I finished watching the movie and I have to say it was very enjoyable and loved the CGI. I said it before but now Marvel or DC needs to get our girl do a superhero movie. 1

None of us is saying it's a masterpiece. It's a fun popcorn flick. Also, it's sci-fi, we were all realistic it wasn't gonna be a critic favorite. Should she pick better material, definitely. Did she make the film better, definitely. Is it a smash and are people turning in, definitely. Are we boosting about it to the haters, yes because ya'll are claiming Jen is irrelevant and a has-been while she's one of Hollywood's household names and despite the hate train people are tuning in. No one was expecting awards for this film or anything so don't act like we think that would happen.
KBax Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Put this on last night because I had no idea what to watch and it was one of the sh*ttiest movies I've ever watched... It was so boring that it made it hard to follow and by the end I didn't even remember what the movie was about. It just felt like it kept dragging on and at one point I was like "Can someone just f*cking kill this b*tch already" 1 2
insomniac Posted May 31 Posted May 31 J.Legend is still #1 (and #3 with Ice Age) one week later @Yudelkis @CosTaSsSs @Dabbyy Somehow they took away the streaming numbers thread and merged it with this one, which the OP doesn't update. 1
TheGreatMrY Posted May 31 Posted May 31 This was a fun popcorn movie. What were people expecting it to be? 1

Too bad it was merged. The movie was so cool.
Hector Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Huge viewership in the US for the first week: On the movies chart, Jennifer Lopez's "Atlas" took the top slot with 1.3 billion minutes watched on Netflix and just under 11 million views — the biggest title of the week in either film or TV. https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/shane-gillis-tires-bridgerton-luminate-streaming-ratings-1236021634/ In spite of the quality of the film, 11 million is a huge number for streaming this day and age. 1

Patient Zero Posted June 2 Posted June 2 This proves again that: most streamed/popular doesn't mean the material is good This movie is horrible. I had to fast forward the last 40 minutes or so. 1 1

CosTaSsSs Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I don't get what people wanted from this movie. lol Was it promoted as the next Lanthimos movie? lol it's just a pop corn movie to have fun at a night where you need to watch something. 2

Exactly! It did what it had to do. Another streaming hit for miss Lopez. 1
Musicmajor Posted June 4 Posted June 4 I am happy she is getting some good news amidst all the negative backlash lately. She is a juggernaut with her netflix movies, 'The Mother' also did incredibly well.
Hector Posted June 8 Posted June 8 (edited) US viewership: With 432.4 million minutes watched, Jennifer Lopez's "Atlas" remained No. 1 on the movies chart for the second week in a row. In second place was "Colors of Evil: Red" with 408.1 million minutes, though it incrementally led the chart in views (just above 3.6 million for "Red" vs. just below it for "Atlas"). The streak basically ends here as the film is no longer top 10 on Netflix in the US. Edited June 8 by Hector
