People saying it's not so bad for Demi, be real people, no way those numbers are not bad.

I mean, it's bad but it could be worse. At least it seems like it's gonna be top ten :eli:

It wasn't a commercial project

You could literally swap Demi’s name for Olivia’s in 2/3 of the tracklist and nobody would have blinked an eye. The cover, the title, the polarizing image and the tired theme in the lyrics don’t make it “non commercial” they make it a flop the GP didn’t buy.

Tell me you didn't listen to Demi's album without telling me you didn't listen to Demi's album

Exactly considering that they are supposed to be a major star and calling Camila and others a flop when they didn’t do much less and not as popular? U got to have more topics to talk about that drug use. That’s been every song literally since what 2020.

It's 2022. Demi stopped being a 'major star' a long ago :rip:

Also, Demi didn't have a #1 single in her last era like Camila did so the expectations for this one were obviously lower

I never used Demi but I’m listening to the album out of curiosity and the stans are right, this ain’t commercial at all. Her and this type of music are not my cup of tea but y’all doing too much

I'm actually surprised she's going to debut at the T10, so that's positive, I guess.

Exactly it’s bc it’s Demi. If it been selena or Camila it been bad. Demi has the same songs bout drug use and radio and other charts are tired of hearing it. Plus using they just to get attention bc it’s quite funny that she started using it right after everyone else did just like Sam smith did, another attention *****. Glad they both flopping bc their music is just so bland since quite ironically their collab in im ready…and flopped and flopped ever since.

People saying this is good when Katy was dragged ruthlessly for Smile going Top 5 and selling 50k by those same people.

Congrats to Demi tho. This was clearly an art not the charts kind of album anyway and it’s her best work in years. :clap3:

so in terms of SALES.. (yeah, i know..) madonna is destroying them all.. she's the biggest actual seller this week!

Katy and Demi are peers now? :rip:

Also consider that yes, Smile was after the end of merch bundles, but it was still at times that physicals preorder that came with digital downloads counted even if the physical part dispatched months later so it actually sold less than what it did on week 1 (she had 10 formats + signed copies on preorder until late 2020/early 2021).

Halsey sold 98k with an album as alternative as Demi’s and also with no hits. Y’all can keep on lying that this is great for an image/sound change, but the problem seems deeper than that. Demi’s been catering to a nostalgic older audience (that still buys music) with the tv show performances and 29 has gained some push on TikTok to attract young listeners. The streaming numbers are bad and the pure sales show how much the lovatics have diminished in size. As other people mentioned in other threads: no label or management is gonna continue to invest if there’s little return, especially since it’s also her last release for Island and coming after an underperformance (DWTD). The next few weeks seem to be tragic for this project once the pure sales are out of the equation. I hope she sticks to the era beyond the first two weeks since she seems passionate about the project. If not it’s new label, new sound, new me for her next one
