If there really is a 6th one this franchise needs a breath of fresh air. Similar to scream. New writers and directors for example.

It was just shy of beating Scream 6’s first week and I have to guess Scream 6 spent a lot more on marketing for that film. Congrats to Patrick Stewart on his directorial debut. He did a great job. @Walk_Away21

superben Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 I love the first two, so I'm intrigued, but the recent sequels are shitty. Is this one good?
bad guy Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 Scream 6 still undefeated since release. Interesting
Kevin2803 Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 This was actually pretty bad. It wastes so much time on exposition and irrelevant nonsense and then feels completely rushed in the last thirty minutes. It just feels so lazy. Even the lipstick-face demon is nothing more than a footnote and seems not threatening at all.

I think if they did, they’d have manifested much earlier on (like with dalton & the dad). But at the end Elise said “you & dalton both have bright futures ahead of you” to the dad so who knows what they could do with their story. Honestly they need to continue on with the story at the end of Insidious Chapter 2. With the family with the girl in the wheelchair. Jenna Ortega could make a comeback because she was able to see ghosts, she saw Elise. She’s also a current scream Queen so I could definitely see that happening.

publikcitizen Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 saw it yesterday. i liked it a lot. i appreciated the slow burn aspect of it even though it was not that scary compared to the first two. it was a sad movie too! lol who knew the happy ending of insidious 2 would be a catalyst for the struggle the lambert family is dealing with at the beginning of the movie. 1
Memoirs387 Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Just got home from it. I really enjoyed it! It’s certainly not the best film of the series but I enjoyed it! 1

Aside from some illogical details, only 2-3 characteres were killed when in previous installments of the franchise, most characters died, only 4-5 people survived in the end.

Dragonfly Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 I think this is my least favourite in the franchise. I like that they show the impact of the previous events on the family, but that´s about it. Was expecting some interesting plot about Josh´s dad accidently haunting the family, when he just wanted contact. But that went nowhere. And by the end it seemed like people were wandering in and out of the Further willynilly, while the first films had much more clear and logic rules about that place.
