Bill is a bitter recluse who is quite clearly miserable in the game. He becomes so insufferable to be around that Frank writes in his suicide note that he’d rather be dead than spend another day with him. Whereas in the show, we see two people get to spend years together living a life that very few, if any, other people will get to live post-breakout and they both die in each others arms feeling fulfilled. Their story in the show was beautiful and will probably be the happiest ending we’ll ever see from this world. There was nothing ‘bury your gays’ about it.
FailSafe Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Nevertheless, Bill's character served the same purpose in the series, just in a different way.
tost1 Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 I love the show so far even though the last episode was a bit too slow for me after the first two, I did shed a gay tear or two dz tho
Totami Legend Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 (edited) “So boring” ”waste of time” relationships and writing are what makes this franchise great, not the zombies. The excuses. Edited January 31, 2023 by Totami Legend
TheOnlyOne Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 I predict this episode will hit 25-30 million viewers by the end of the week Daddy Pascal, Daddy Offerman, and Daddy Bartlett did that
Wrecked Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 If people are crying now, I can’t wait until… Spoiler Lev shows up

The excuses. literally this. they could have EASILY served us another infected attack and moved on with the show, but they did the exact opposite and showed a beautiful backstory that makes the show so much more than a zombie show. and that's also SO in line with the game itself because it's much more than just a zombie/post-apocalyptic game without any substance.
UnusualBoy Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Yeah, this episode was gorgeous but sad at same time. Frank is , let me get a daddy like that one, omg.
Totami Legend Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 hopefully HBO will triplicate the budget for season 2. My mind goes numb if i think about the huge places we saw in part II

What game were they playing, my god? We need to stop paying so much attention to those kind of loud, annoying minorities.
Topmaster 2 Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 The last time I cried in TV Show was in Grey's Anatomy but TLOU made me cry again with this iconic episode... and I think (if you played the game like me) More tears will come soon enough

I never interact with any people like that, as there’s honestly no point. I just find it funny mocking them. This episode will win awards and they will seethe.
Richmond Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Ok this show was getting boring to me but WOW that episode was unreal. I thought they were going to do a quick lil gay thing like every show does nowadays for 5 mins to be “inclusive” but they dedicated almost an entire episode to it and I was in tears at how beautiful it was. That was such an amazing episode. What a roller coaster.

They could have kept the same death ending but moved it later down the line. Ive never played the game, just watching as a first time viewer but it’s kind of a bummer they’re already gone. HabbGaga Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Do you guys have any hopes for part 2? For me I'd like to see the timeline be more linear. Which I think will happen bc the structure of part 2 just wouldn't work for a tv show. I'd love to see the space between part 1 and part 2 expanded upon specifically more Joel, Tommy, Maria, Dina, Jesse and just how the Jackson town runs, how they deal with threats etc. I'd love to see the Scars and WLFs fleshed out more, the Scars would be insane. idrc about the Rattlers they just seem like a throwaway bandit group which is fine I don't feel the need to spend to much time with them. If they find a way to introduce spores that would be really cool and a closer look at the origin of the Rat King would be amazing. One thing I'd really love to see that was never in the games but was an original concept Abby infiltrating Jackson could add so much suspense. For those that know Abby and for those that don't having a character you seemingly like and then have this drastic turn could work really well. She could even go by a different name at first so the viewers aren't certain of who she is. Also Abby actually having a proper conversation with Joel rather than their paths just crossing in an instant, she could even find herself liking him a little and seeing that he is a decent guy but the fact that she still chooses to go through with it and leave behind a life of safety and community at the Jackson town could make it even more impactful. And rather than Ellie chasing a ghost the entire show, it being someone that was right under their nose, someone they allowed and trusted in their town could a bunch of trust issues for not only Ellie but Maria, Tommy etc
Slate Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 The ratings increase, see when you do talentry and gay excellence
