Great numbers for Rod & expected. Although like 20k more than I thought

Megan's are extremely dissapointing, her brand needs revamp

Damn Meg :doc: I don't know why they didn't push for a longer rollout with at least one hit out to support the album campaign. No physicals shipped to stores (besides her website) or vinyl available either. What a mess.

She's not in a place where she can surprise drop music but oh well, at least it's getting great reviews.

Given the circumstances, not bad at all for Megan. It’s actually what I expected.

Rod Waves album is really good too, just too long! He is a streaming force

Damn those are awful numbers for Megan :deadbanana2: I thought she was gonna do 80K

Megan album is great it deserve better numbers, I Hope predictions go up

Absolutely awful numbers for Megan, GP doesn't seem interested in her p*ssy since that's what she's known for on her music.

i honestly expected megan to do worse-

Good for Rod

Not surprised by Meg.

I think this should be enough to land between 4-7 but it's a top 10 for her.

the album is better than Good News but the songs she put out have already peaked.

More than OK numbers for Megan considering she zero noise with the singles

Posted (edited)

The album was bound to underperform. Megan has been dealing with lot of issues: her record label, part of her audience turning their backs on her after she was shot and finding her a bird, no song from this album crossing over, people criticizing her singles for showing no growth. Sweetest Pie and Plan B came and went for different audiences and Pressurelicious was DOA. Had she released some other slower week I could see her doin 60k-80k. Rod Wave is as big as her in the black music community and he dropped a massive 24 track album that ran with all of the attention. She’s struggling to place songs in US AM top 50 because of it. Between him and the new Bey she’s kinda there as an afterthought. Her album had better songs that could have been singles, but I can’t see any of that becoming hits like the stuff from Good News and Sugah. I still think she’s shown growth with the record and that’s a win

Like all the other rappers?

These are very bad numbers for Megan, especially considering US is the only market that uses her

even if Megan wanted to release this album ASAP to get out of her contract, why a surprise release??

She should've waited ( I know the rush release was to complete her contract but.... :rip:).

Even with the underperforming singles, this would've been at least 80k. Most people didn't know this was  coming out til literally yesterday  :rip:

Poor Megan. I haven’t listened to her album but after what’s been happening to her I hoped she’d pull through with some good numbers anyways.

If the album is as good as I’m reading, maybe it’ll have legs through word of mouth or something. Either way, hoping she comes out on top eventually.

about what would be expected for megan; a bit higher than something for thee hotties.

the last album was helped by the hype of being on 2 #1 singles, this one does...not have that.

How were y’all expecting better from Meg? This album did not have a good roll out at all. It was very rushed. Announced the day of and she barely did anything pre release to promote it. This was the last album under that terrible label. I did not expect it to smash.

Pretty much this - context is important. No hit single to carry the album, announced the day before, no physical CDs in stores, no vinyl, even the t-shirts and merch are pre-order only because nothing is ready right now :rip: Should've announced the album + a single this week, promoted at the VMAs, and released during a dead week in September for a quick Top 3 on the BB200.

All things considered, the fact that she can rush release a project and still end up Top 10 counts for something.

Agreed. I feel like she’s just desperate to get out of the contract that numbers don’t matter to her right now. Additionally, she will not gain a lot of revenue from this album based on her contract. I just hope she makes smarter decisions with the next label she’ll be apart of

Idk how anyone was surprised. These numbers are kinda the best case scenario
