Beyoncé is still under by about 10-15M units. :skull: So many of these updates are still under by 1-2M units each. :deadbanana2:

Beyoncé isn’t undercertified guys it’s just that RIAA only counts official video streams while Billboard counts unofficial / user-generated video views - hence the difference

Same thing happened with Rih last year, BB had Work at over 10M then it got certified 8xP months later

Now Rih and Bey are mostly updated fully

Republic hates Taylor and Shamrock isnt going to update her first 6 albums so ig Taylor will be the new Beyonce :gaycat6:

What? What’s the beef btw Taylor and Republic? She only signed to them recently and their albums together have been hugely successful.

Plsss I'm just exaggerating. I only said so since they update their other big artists more than Taylor.

But maybe they dont bother with her since she owns her masters.

Maybe it’s because they can’t legally update the album released under a diff label.

There's a big gap between Billboard's report of 8 million and RIAA's certification of 6x Platinum for Sasha Fierce. I would understand if the RIAA certification was 7x Platinum but only 6x Platinum? No way.

Mariah still updates her Columbia albums/singles from the 90s and she left the label in 2000

My guess is that IASF is probably at like 6.9M units, super close to 7xP

Cause, why would the label pay for all these new certifications and not get the correct ones ?

I know. I’m sure Taylor could too but she’s probably avoiding dealing with Big machine. I don’t know how involved labels are in the certification process. I’m sure she will eventually anyways and even if she doesn’t have the plaque, she still got the money.

are you sure that's Mariah's personal doing & not the label?

what about 4 and Lem? Those are not in the OP.

Also, I thought IaSF was higher than 6xP, but that's super impressive either way.

The way she had 4 almost consecutive 5xP+ albums is just insane. :deadbanana2:

This. When they make a massive update like that they are not going to undercertify no telling the next time and update will occur.

Omg, finally :jonny5:

but like...? Baby Boy, Naughty Girl, Deja Vu, Ring the Alarm or Listen scoring just 1x Plat? That makes no sense.

Did her team lose the receipts for all the physical sales and this is just based on streams or what? :psyduck:

There’s something really chaotic about these certifications. Before I Let Go is platinum.

Billboard includes streams that RIAA does not include.

Billboard and RIAA have different methodologies

IASF should be at 8x Platinum.

Honestly, it's kinda common for songs to be undercertified. The RIAA tends to take A LOOOOOONG time to process the updates and sometimes the RIAA forgets about them as well. By the time the process is finished, most of the certs are already outdated (unless the songs aren't doing ANY numbers anymore).

I remember back in 2019 (when ASIB was coming out) the RIAA made a tweet about "Platinum certified album ARTPOP" and the Gaga twitter bubble was like "Huh? We know it's elligible, but what the f*ck are you talking about, y'all haven't certified it". Turns out, Gaga's label applied for Platinum around the time when she did the Superbowl and the RIAA actually certified it at the same time, they basically just forgot to put in their index. It was like... rotting on some desk because somebody forgot about it. Three days after their tweet, it was in the RIAA index with a note saying "certified on xx.xx.2017" :rip:
