D.Va Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 I'm glad people are finally admitting the second verse and the outro suck I'm always ahead of times it seems.

Burqa Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 (edited) upon first listen, I must say it’s a better song than DDDD, KTL, BOOMBAYAH and HYLT. mainly because having an instrumental explosive chorus is such a predictable thing in all of these songs, and I was tired of feeling embarrassed when I showed my friends BP songs and they were all “baram bam bam” “ah yeah yeah” in the chorus i thought i would get tired of it after a day but i still feel the same. we finally got a proper chorus with a melody, isn’t that what y’all wanted? and the oriental vibes are everything, this is Crazy Over You’s older sister i must say the prechorus was jarring at first, somehow the vocals didn’t match the instrumental, reminded me of Step Back, but I got used to it I must say the anti drop in the chorus reminds me of savage. the final drop is nothing groundbreaking but it fits well Edited August 20, 2022 by Burqa

The only person who might be doing something special is Nicki since she's getting an honors award. Unless Bey attends but doubt it. yeah I know we'll probably only get Pink Venom, but I hope they get their chance to shine during the performance and not be on top of each other doing all the kiel moves like they usually do they should aim for a more grand performance
Moon Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 Koreans love them some global success so maybe the Spotify achievement might be the push it needs for Melon but FLO I don't wanna get my hopes up, it'll probably like their late night appearances unless we see a whole mob and 200 suitases arrive with them at the airport. I don't expect more than this but less extravagant set because it's the VMAs and not YGs own studio. So a regular performance.

Companion Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 After getting used to the song I kinda understand how it is underwhelming compared to HYLT. Especially rap part in the second verse starting to sound so random when listening it without the visuals. I love the chorus and the jennies first verse tho. Also idk the music terms much. What do you mean by outro? Is it the beginning part where jisoo plays the instrument? And are we going to see some korean music show stages? Like Music Band and The Show?

queendom Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 So proud of them these numbers are nothing short of incredible! It's what this amazing track deserves.

I'm glad we could realize with this quick conversation that literally all of their previous rap verses outsold Pink Venom's botched attempt at serving street cred 12 minutes ago, Companion said: After getting used to the song I kinda understand how it is underwhelming compared to HYLT. You hit in the nail on the head. And the outro is the horrible part at the end when they shout bratatata
Crazy kid Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 Now if the Jenlisa rap verse had that korean instrument from the intro, that would have been a SERVE. It would have tied the intro into the rest of the song AND have been different enough that it stood out.

Some YouTube blinks are starting to edit the song exactly like that and you're actually SO RIGHT it sounds so much better (only listen to the second verse, they both botched the chorus so bad)
