Thank god I'm missing all the think pieces because they simply do not matter lmao It's seems to be smashing despite atrl and what's seemingly most of the kpop community panning it so ,really...if it's that bad then move on but people seem to be stuck on it. Kpop event of the year one way or another because caring is caring.

Overall based on the first 6 hours the initial reactions on the Internet are mixed yet more leaning on the positive side (just like DDU-DU, KTL, HYLT)

Really ? Ever since DDDD, it's always Jennie > Lisa > Rosé/Jisoo > Hook (with almost 0 sung parts, almost always onomatopoeias or one liners) > Jennie/Lisa > Jisoo/Rosé > Hook > Bridge by Jisoo/Rosé > Loud outro that's different from the two previous choruses. 

 

Of course I don't expect them to switch roles fff like I'm not interested in hearing Rosé rap but that wasn't my point. If Teddy isn't interested in switching up their sound, then switching up their structure (Jisoo having the first verse, Jennie doing her rap during the bridge and not the second verse, things like that) could be interesting and at least make the songs feel more unique. A perfect example is Don't Know What To Do, which is pretty noisy and on brand for Blackpink. However, it still feels unique thanks to its sad/calm vibe and Lisa showcasing her singing voice, which she hasn't really done before. Pretty Savage is also a good exemple, Jisoo went a bit out of comfort zone during the second verse and showcased more than her singing. 

 

I'm sure y'all are tired of the essays but I really want to explain what I dislike about the song because I've stanned these girls for so long (even tho I don't post often in their base) and don't want to appear as a hater or something.

I can understand people not liking the song if you're not into that sound, cause it's very hip hop/experimental (and very different from their other title tracks imo ) but personally I love it, it has a bit of 90s/2000s nostalgia in it, even in the music video, IDK it screams MTV for me, y'all know what I mean?

This has been out for ages and people still don't know, guess that's why we're allegedly getting dozens of millions  deleted 

At this point it has a chance of passing HYLT and even crossing 100M even if you hate the song everyone should drop a stream for womens sake, also cause the top 2 are worse than PV and she deserves for the MV alone.
