Pretty much this  I support these girls, but I’m also not deluded and can fully see when something isn’t good. It honestly sounds like a mix of two different ideas melodically and it genuinely is a mess. Hopefully there’s better to come

a lot of times people dont want to admit when something is off because they are their favs. which is okay. Its my opinion at the end of the day (shared by many members on here i suppose) but i do sense a lot of times, people pretend they immediately love their songs becaude they adore the girls and their videos. like this isnt the first release of them where the song is not well received but still pulls massive views.

i’m the most casual of BP listeners (or not even that) and even I could tell that this song sounds really different from their other material, so i don’t know what that narrative is about  

 

the video serves budget and is amazing, but their looks are kinda basic for me? they just look so pedestrian and not really “pop star”. am I the only one thinking this?

But of course these are my opinions, nobody is acting like we're almighty and our taste is supreme. 

However, if we look at facts (the instrumental used in the song, its structure, the video, the lyrics), you can't deny that Pink Venom is extremely similar to what they've done previously. Now, as you say, you don't mind because you like the song, but for the ones who dislike it like myself, it feels appalling that they failed that badly at a formula they've been repeating since 2018 after a 2-years break. 

 

Ice Cream was a mess but at least it was different, they tried something new.

I'm not worried about the album, I know they'll serve. However, people in her need to sit their ass down and understand that after 2 years, this can feel extremely underwhelming to some stans. There's just so many glaring flaws. Just like y'all are able to express your enthusiasm, we're also able to express how disappointed we are. 

 

 

I get where you are coming from. But the track is definitely more experimental than the previous three releases and channels much more "hip hop" influence in the production alone. So it is still a different evolution this time.

Well, welcome to K-POP Kpop borrows so much from rap culture, so its nothing new. I am a bit worried about how they are going to be received at the VMAs by an American audience now They have never tried hip hop THAT much in a single song so far.
