Swag Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Nickelodeon offered Jennette McCurdy $300,000 if she agreed to never speak publicly about her experiences at the network, which she refused, her new memoir reveals. Last year, former child star Jennette McCurdy, best known for her role as Sam Puckett in Nickelodeon’s iCarly and Sam & Cat, announced she was done with acting and would be shifting her focus to writing, directing, and podcasting. Since then, 30-year-old Jennette actually wrote something (um, a real writer would procrastinate for years!); a memoir, entitled I’m Glad My Mom Died. That was also the title of her one-woman show, so, like, Jennette’s definitely glad mom Debra McCurdy died of cancer in 2013. Ahead of her book’s August 9 release, Jennette did an interview with The New York Times and discussed some of her memoir’s more troubling revelations, including the fact that Nickelodeon allegedly offered her $300,000 in hush money to never talk about her experiences with the network. It doesn’t take the child genius brain of iCarly (was she smart? I never watched) to put two and two together… this has gotta be Dan Scheider-related. 56-year-old Dan Schneider is the rumored creep who created a bajillion Nickelodeon shows, including iCarly, and “parted ways” with the network during #MeToo’s peak in 2018. In her memoir, Jennette writes about her disturbing experiences with “the Creator”, who is 1000% Dan: “McCurdy endured various embarrassments and indignities at Nickelodeon, where she writes of being photographed in a bikini at a wardrobe fitting and being encouraged to drink alcohol by an intimidating figure she simply calls the Creator. In situations where her mother was present, Debra did not intervene or speak up, instructing Jennette that this was the price of showbiz success: ‘Everyone wants what you have,’ she would tell her daughter. https://ew.com/celebrity/jennette-mccurdy-says-nickelodeon-offered-hush-money-alleged-abuse/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/tv/jennette-mccurdy-accuses-nickelodeon-offering-hush-money/
Jynx672 Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 I remember him posting an image of a bunch of teenage girls sitting in a jacuzzi with several grown men on Twitter, which came from TV show that he directed on Nickelodeon. He swiftly deleted it when people called him out on how inappropriate it was
Beyonnaise Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 The foot fetish and sexual jokes stuff was creepy but just in general, if you followed him in 2009-2011 it was obvious that he clearly overstepped boundaries with his underage female stars. I mean the optics were never great, he was an overweight 40 something and they were all pretty skinny white teen girls. There were always these videos he posted of them on set and they uncomfortably laughed with a “stop filming me” face, and pictures of him hugging them tightly. Admittedly his shows were funny so he was able to cloak it in the “random” humor. I wonder if anyone else will come out about him after Jennette, he seems to still be close with the Victorious cast, even Ariana and Liz who wouldn’t typically let a man get away with creepy behavior, but then again he did give them their big break so maybe they feel loyal for that.
Doogle Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 I can honestly see him dying and then the floodgates of true allegations will come open. He’s clearly too powerful right now and people can’t open up publicly. Jennette is very brave
plasticboy Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 some of the rumors are exaggerated like him impregnating jamie lynn spears for example but he is such a creep
NoisYBoY Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 I remember there was a video on youtube of Ari & Liz messing around on the set of Victorious and they got uncomfortable when Dan walked up
Happylittlepunk Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 It only takes a simple google search too see all those creepy pictures of him with those young underage female actresses from his shows. Too see how creepy and pedo vibes he gives.
Selenasworld Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Yeah no adult men should be allowed to go out with teens it's just so ridiculous

Totami Legend Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Ariana has clearly no issues with that monster

ConceptD Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 After what came out about Weinstein, and everything with casting couches which are as old as Hollywood itself and how children are notoriously treated on sets we all know what Dan did. It’s still not fair to sit and individually pick apart these girls lives though and try to link problems they’ve had later on in life to him. If they don’t want to talk, it’s their right and Jeanette was braver than I ever thought she’d be, but even still I feel like it’s the tip of the iceberg.
Mikeymoonshine Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 I feel like this might be another Weinstein/Saville situation where there are rumours for years and then one day it all comes out.
cypriotpcdfan Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 If you guys think this is shocking...wait till you find out about what REALLY goes on in Hollywood ans behind close doors...
Sugar-Rush Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 He was a creep in general, especially when it came to showing young girl's bare feet in basically every show he produced as part of his foot fetish fantasies.
despy Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 you can read some portions of jen's memoir from the link where she talks about some of her experiences w "the creator" ... including this one: Quote “No one’s looking, Jennetter. You’re fine.” “I dunno.” “The Victorious kids get drunk together all the time. The iCarly kids are so wholesome. We need to give you guys a little edge.” The Creator always compares us iCarly kids to the kids on his other hit show, Victorious. I think he thinks it’ll make us try harder. “I don’t know if drinking is what gives a person edge.” I look at The Creator’s drink. He picks it up and sloshes it around. It’s some sort of whiskey mixed with coffee and cream. I do like coffee. “One sip.” https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2022/08/this-phony-bizarre-sphere-jennette-mccurdys-shocking-final-days-at-nickelodeon?utm_brand=vf&utm_source=twitter&utm_social-type=owned&mbid=social_twitter&utm_medium=social

Lady Claire Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 He has an obsession with feet and i only realized how creepy it was once i grew up and notice how often this was displayed Not kinkyshaming a fetish (i love feet too) but to do that with underage actors is beyond messy
drivers license Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 he's very creepy, it's kind of obvious with the content that nickelodeon was giving us

slw84 Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 I feel like it's obvious...and it's not only her. Plenty of people have already been paid off or got their show to keep quiet.
